Resale does not seem to be working for us. At this point we are discouraged with the resale process and just want to buy the points from Disney.

We never have contacted DVC about buying a contract in the past so we have no one to contact. We were successful with purchasing an Oct UY 90 pt BWV contract and closed on it 4/4/05, so we should be in the system as DVC owners. We want another 150 pts at BWV and 150 pts at VWL.

Do you know if we can do an add-on to the 90 pt contract, or can you only add-on if you have 150 pts to begin with? Do we just call the MS # and say we want to purchase points. We do not need any promotional sales material, we just want to get our name on a waitlist to get the points we need.

Thanks. I have already learned alot from all of you.

Laura

I suspect if you call MS, they will forward your request to someone, but you might try using the member website and sending an email. That way it will get directed to a guide right away.

Thanks dianeschlicht.

How long does it take to get access to the website? With just closing on 4/4, we have yet to receive anything from DVC.

Laura

Contact Suzie Farnsworth our friends reccomended her to us when we were looking and she has been so great. She calls us all the time to let us know about promotions etc and just to say hi.

I was very pleased with the service I have received from Gibb McCain, going back to April 96. Feel welcome to contact him, and give him my name. Jim

Yes you can add on to your 90 pt contract...if you can I suggest a 120 pt add on a SSR...lot of good perks there...

I think all of the guides are great. We Spoke with Joaquin Alvarez when we visited and also have dealt with Randy Cook.

Good luck

Our guide is Bernard Lebeaupin and he is fantastic. He always leaves us a nice message everytime we are at WDW. He is very helpful and LOW pressure. He likes to chat and make the process easy and friendly.

Good Luck!!

Linda Scolaro has been my guide since 1997 and she has gone over and above to call me on her days off and after hours to help me get my contracts finalized. I waited until the last minute to buy into SSR presale and she made sure I got the best price. No pressure just great info.

Our guide is Nick Tamberrino, and he is great. We just added on 150 VWL points and he was great about keeping us informed on how long it would take to get them. Once you purchase DVC (no matter how many points) you should be able to get on the waitlist with DVC. Best of luck. Sorry your resale process has left you frustrated. You may have to wait a little while for BWV and VWL, but hopefully not too long. Our VWL points were Feb. UY and it took about a month on the waitlist to get them. The SSR add on incentives look really nice, and you could get those immediately if you have just run out of patience.

HI Laura, We have bought points both from DVC and resales. We have a dear friend that is a DVC guide, she is not pushy and will only help you with your answers that you need. I use to work for Disney and new more exact how different things worked but rules change regularly. If you want to call her her name is Kelly Jo Williams and her telephone is 800 827 3865. Hope she can be of help. You can give her my name, Martha Solar.
Regards, Martha

Thanks everyone!

I took dianeschlicht advise last night, and went to the Disney website and got the sales # for DVC. Within 45 minutes they had me talking to a guide, Hasson, (very pleased with him by the way) and we had our 150 Dec UY VWL points! (Same UY and # of points we were ROFR'd yesterday btw.....LOL)

We are so happy to finally have our VWL points!

Laura

We have Kelly Jo Williamson. She has been with DVC for 12 years. Quick, knows what she's doing and doesn't beat around the bush.

I have Kelly Jo too and just love her. Not pushy and really has helped. I just did the add on and am thinking about it again. :goodvibes

How much more than the ROFR price did you end up paying?

The resale contract was submitted for $70/pt, but there was only 18 '04 and '05 pts left. With the Disney contract I got a total of 300 '04/'05 pts.

Difference between the 2 were $2806 more for the Disney. But we got 282 extra points to use as well. Since we are paying cash, we were able to put it all on a credit card, and we earned nearly $200 in airline ticket credit. So if you do the math, I believe we actually came out ahead going thru Disney.

We had a very unusual circumstance that actually changed our contract needs after we made the offer. Had we known the situation we were going to be in, we would not have tried to buy a stripped contract. I still believe resale can be a great deal, you just have to be patient.

Best of Luck to you in making your decisions.......Laura

LauraLea, so glad it worked out for you! Most of all, if your happy with the contract, and the amount you paid, than it was a good deal!

My parents have Kelli Jo too... I have talked to her about our own contract she is GREAT so nice and pleasant :flower:
