Please help me understand WHY I would want the Frozen Summer Premium Package

I am in the middle of planning for my first trip to WDW for this summer. My mom and I are taking my 7 year old dd for a girls-only vacation. Of course my dd is Frozen obsessed and thankfully I was able to snag FP+ for all of us to meet the sisters. I just read about the Frozen Premium Package being offered and I was excited to book it...until I saw the price. $177 for the three of us!!! While I understand that the package will get us into a premium location for the processional and fireworks, I just can't imagine that it would be worth that much money. However, I really want to make this trip special for dd. Can someone help me to understand?

Also, we booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package, which means that we will be watching the first Fantasmic show. I don't think this will work out well with the Frozen Fireworks, correct? We are on the Dining Package, and since the Dinner Package didn't cost extra, I suppose we could just skip the first show and watch the second? Since I am brand new to this, I would love to hear others' thoughts.

By the way, he is the info about the Frozen Summer Premium Package:

Im wondering the same thing. There are four of us so it's pretty expensive.

the only reason to use one of these packages are:

1) uncrowded place to watch the parade plus unlimited drinks and snacks. (no seating)
2) dessert party and fireworks viewing (including all the desserts you might want and unlimited beverages, including alcohol if you want it) plus that uncrowded place (also no seating).

That's it, how much is it worth to you. There's the show too, but you can get FP for that.

I don't think fireworks will work too well with the first Fantasmic and you definitely don't want to book the Frozen package and keep that Fantasmic viewing. You won't be able to make the dessert party and that is part of what you would be paying for.

This! because of our traveling party this time we won't be doing a lot of the dining that we would typically do if the party make up was different so we have more "play" money. Would I do this every trip? No but it is something that I could add to our trip that will be a nice little extra for the two of us (DD is an adult at WDW so for two of us it's $140ish). While that is a lot in some cases, I look at this as an experience and hope we will enjoy it.

Can you participate in the activities without it, yes. Does it make for a little more enjoyable park experience (our last of this trip) I hope so!

should also be noted that "uncrowded" doesn't mean everybody has a front row view, so if you want that you have to check in for the package parade viewing early and stake your spot. Might not be staking as long as someone would outside the area, and you get the drinks and snacks. They have been having a section of the area where the kids sit down on the ground and the parents stand behind them, which helps the kids to be able to see, but a child that can't be separated from the parent at all might not be able to use it.

I did it last year, and I found the dessert party was forgettable, the space they save to be negligible with a little planning, and ultimately over priced. I think they can charge this price only because it includes unlimited alcohol... for a light drinker like me, it wasn't worth it at all.

This was totally our experience last year. For the processional, I wouldn't call the area uncrowded per se...more like segregated? If you want a front row spot, you'll "only" have to arrive an hour or so in advance rather than 90 minutes.

The dessert party was uncrowded, but the view from it wasn't as good as in other areas of the park, either. The desserts were beautiful but the taste wasn't all that great (they all tasted previously frozen). The drinks were delicious, but the hangover the next day was a killer. ;)

If we were going during FSF this year we would not do the package again.

I booked it last year for our August trip and decided to cancel it due to the price. We did everything without it, other than getting the desserts and drinks. Now with the FP for the Frozen sing-a-long show you can even book that if you feel like you want a guaranteed seat for that, so the value is even less now IMO. We don't drink so we saw even less value in the package than a group who would enjoy the drinks.

A lot of people did enjoy it though, so it's definitely an individual thing!

If you can't see the value in it for your family, then just see the components on their own.

The only part of it that was worth it for us was the drinks (both adult and nonadult) and the ice cream snacks. Their deserts were awful. With the price Disney charges for adult beverages we easily got our monies worth out of them, without getting drunk. I'm not sure if I'll do it for our trip in August or not. I'm waiting till I see how the fireworks viewing goes now that the hat is down. We are doing the SWW premium package so I'll have an idea from that.

I will mention that we did really enjoy the dance party that goes on before the fireworks. We were able to go out and enjoy that (watching Chip and Dale do the "Wobble" was priceless) and then go back to the viewing area to catch fireworks and have elbow room. We didn't even use the area for the parade. We just went off to ride. I feel too sorry for those folks in their winter gear in that FL heat

Well, obviously if it's a Frozen Dessert Party, they'll have to serve frozen desserts... ;)

Thanks everyone! Since this is a first-time trip for us (well, other than a very short trip in the late 80s that I barely remember!), it is hard for me to understand what is worth it and what is unnecessary. My mom does not drink at all, and I honestly can't see myself drinking much myself, so I can't see us getting our money's worth with this.

I am still trying to determine how we can do both Fantasmic and the fireworks. I was really looking forward to Fantasmic, but I have a feeling that my dd will place more value in all things Frozen.

You can see the first F! show and the Fireworks. You may not have a perfect viewing spot and you may have to walk rapidly down the street between F! theater and the center hub but it can be done. You just can't do both the package and the first F! show as you'll be at the show while the pre-Fireworks festivities are ongoing.

If having a good spot for seeing the stage show before the Fireworks is important then you will want to skip F!. You may prefer the 2nd F! that night (if they have one)
