We will probably be landing in Orlando at 7 pm on a Monday night. Our original plan was to have a separate room only reservation for that night and then begin our SPD reservations at the same resort Tuesday - Friday.

Now we have the chance to get a fly in at 2 pm and I thought that if I had a five day park pass, I could utilize it a day early but that's apparently not the case.

If I change our reservations (they haven't been made yet, hoping to figure this all out in the next few days) so our SPD starts on Monday and runs through Thursday morning and then have a Thursday night resort only reservation, I'd be able to utilize that 5th day of my park pass on Friday, correct?

Then, next question - do our food credits on the dining plan carry over. For example, we don't use the QS on Monday, can we use it on a later day or is it a "use it that day or lose it"

Lastly, if the food credits DO carry over, can they be used the day after the SPD reservation ends or do the credits cancel out when that 1st reservation ends? We plan a full day at the park that day so we obviously need to eat, but I really DON'T want to buy into SPD for all five days because we won't take full advantage of it the first day we arrive, IF we even arrive in time to do a park a while that night.

Thanks in advance for helping me muddle through this!!

I am not sure if this will help you,I did that package last year SPD.I did pay for the first night because it gave us an extra day of meals to use.We were able to do a 2 credit meal and not pay out of pocket. If its not much more I would just get the extra night. We did not get park hoppers that time and I rationalized it off set the price of the extra day.We did not check in until very late the first day.

1) Yes, you can use your park tickets on non-contiguous days. The limit is that you must use all your days within 14 days of first scanning your tickets. A small break in between won't hurt anything. Just don't leave for a month and think you can come back. ;)

2) Your meal credits are good for the entire time you have the credits registered. If you are there from Monday to Friday, for example, and have the DDP for the whole time, you can use those credits in any order and magnitude from 12:01AM Monday to 11:59PM Friday. If you want to, you can use all your credits on Monday and have nothing left the rest of the week. Similarly, you can not use any credits and then blow them all on Friday if that's what you really want. They will NOT carry over to Saturday, though, so as soon as midnight on Friday strikes, your credits turn back into pumpkins.

Hope this helps!

You can still do a package Tuesday-Friday, and pick up your park tickets a day eary on Monday. You'd need to visit guest services at a park to do this - there's info in the tickets sticky on the Theme Parks board I believe. You can pick up tickets linked to a package up to three days before your package starts.

You can also do it the other way you propose, with your package going Monday-Thurs and then doing room only Friday, but you'd have to use all your dining credits by midnight Thursday.

Keep in mind that by doing room only - whether on the beginning or the end of your package - you do run the risk of having to change rooms at your resort. Is there a reason you don't want to do a package for the whole duration? If you keep your tickets the same, the price difference would be negligible and you'd get an extra day of dining credits.
