Hello,
We are a family of three (mom, dad, and [when we visit] an almost three-year-old girl). I am feeling pretty overwhelmed by all of the options for figuring out what to do at each park, and honestly, don't have time to read through every guide, touring plan, or blog post to determine what would work and what wouldn't. I'm hoping that the experts on this board will have some sound advice consolidated in one place, that takes certain things we want to do into consideration.
Our situation is this: We'll be checking into Park Place Inn in the early evening on July 1, and checking out on July 4. We have a three-day park hopper (thank you SoCal City Pass!). I'd like us to visit both parks and ride what we can (daughter will be over 36" but less than 40"), visit Ariel's Grotto (AG) for a meal (do not care which meal), do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (BBB) Castle Package (yes I know she isn't three, but I heard they don't ask for age sometimes when you make your reservation so hoping for the best [also she can totally sit still for that long, we've been practicing]), and watch at least one or two parades. I realize that having these sit down activities like the meal, the boutique, or a parade will take time away from rides and that is ok. I'm not really concerned about riding every ride since she's too small anyway. I want to be at the park from the moment it opens, and she may not nap, which will mean we're leaving the park at or around 9PM. It is very unlikely my husband or I would want to ride anything without her (he is a curmudgeon and I would only do it if she were napping and there was a possibility of getting on something). One other note: our daughter doesn't know much about Disney characters other than Mickey, Minnie, and the princesses.
SO, given all those crazy stipulations,
1) What would be some rides or things in those areas we should think about?
2) Places to eat in the parks?
3) Order of activities? (sample touring plans given our needs?)
4) Which parks to go to on which days? July 1 is a Saturday Evening, then July 2 Sunday, then July 3 Monday
5) What's the data situation on the Disneyland App? I plan on using my phone for photos/video and app checking, and have already purchased some backup battery packs for the phone.
6) Photo pass worth it?
7) Any deets on MaxPass?
8) Is both AG and BBB overkill since it's some of the same princesses again? Should I try to do them on the same day so our kid looks like a princess too when she goes to eat with them, or is same day REALLY overkill?
My current thoughts are:
July 1: Head over to DL to catch an evening parade and maybe a ride.
July 2: CA (AG)
July 3: DL (BBB)
