My DH and I are planning a trip from Sept 21-26 (5 nights). I'm having a REALLY hard time picking which resort to stay at!!

Or budget is about $1200 for the room only...so around 200-250/night ( we are AP holders and hope for an AP discount, but I'm going to do this within my budget without the discount - if I get one later, then great, it's more money for other stuff).

Last time we went, we stayed at POR - it was very pretty, but the one thing that irritated me is that the busses back to POR were the last bus stop (or next to the last) in the parks - furthest walk...by the time we got out of the park, we didn't want to walk the extra distance (we were absolutely exahusted!).

I'm wondering about a resort on the monorail loop, or something within walking distance to one or two parks...

I really wanted to do the Grand Floridian, but it's too expensive (not in the budget!)...

Any suggestions???

Thanks!!!

I think your best option with your budget would be to go with Wilderness Lodge. I think the rooms are right around the price in your budget, and it's a deluxe resort. It's not on the monorail loop, but it's very easy to get to the monorail from it. If you stay there, you won't be sorry!

Yup! I agree! You'll get a nice room at WL & probably have a bit of change left! ;)

WL is great! Give it a try!!

WL or a standard view at AKL would fit your budget nicely!::yes::

Good Luck!:wave2:

I guess I will go against the grain - if you want to walk to 1 or 2 parks...that to me = Boardwalk. I'm not sure what the standard view rooms at YC or BC are going for (or BWI) with AP, it might be worth checking out. ALSO - do not rule out the S/D!!! Dreamsunlimited.com has online pricing - you can check out what the price would be. Sometimes there are discounts and the room ends up around $140-$170/night. You can walk easily to EPCOT from the Boardwalk locations, and you can also walk to MGM, although it's a bit longer.

Also, don't rule out the CR! The wing rooms are a great value and you can WALK (forget the monorail!) to MK. However, the greatest thrill of the CR is riding the monorail, so go for it!!!

Sorry - I know there are quite a few WL fans, but it just doesn't float my boat, plus I'm always hugely disappointed that we are not on the monorail there (oh so close yet so far)...

Thanks so much for the advice everyone!!

I am looking into the CR and will look into the WL also. I LOVE the idea of CR being on the monorail loop and walking distance from the Magic Kingdom (where I already know we'll spend most of our time)...

Thanks again!!! :earsgirl:

Good luck with your planning! We are trying WL for the first time ever this May. We've stayed at CR many many many times over the years. You will NOT be disappointed there. It has the original WDW feel. We just love it. HAVE FUN! :sunny:

I would suggest AKL. It's not as close to the Magic Kingdom but it is a beautiful resort.
