Hi Everyone. Thanks for your help with my questions involving the AKV value bathroom. I have deceided to switch villas due to my mom must have a shower since getting in and out of the tub would be too difficult. I have to choose from AKL Standard 1 BR, OKW 1 BR, and BWV 1 BR. Mom will be using a scooter so what do you think will be the best and easiest resort for WDW transportation with the scooter? We will also have a car. I'm thinking maybe BWV since there are the boats and we can walk and she can ride the scooter to the 2 parks. Any advise would be great. Thanks

I personally think any of them will be fine. Does she need a roll in shower or just a regular shower with a 6 inch or less lip? If she just needs a regular shower, than any of the one bedroom villas have a shower seperate from the tub.

We personally loved AKV. I have not stayed in the others, but BWV would be easy to get to Epcot and DHS, without a car or taking a bus. If you have a car, I would use that instead to all the parks except maybe MK. Then I would take the bus.

We have found that we like the freedom of being able to move when we want without waiting for transportation that comes with a car. Yes we have to break down and assemble the scooter, but we prefer that to using the buses when we can.

Thanks. I called this am and booked BWV. She only needs a seperate shower so I booked a standard 1 br villa, but MS put in a request for a hand held showerhead and a shower bench for her.

We just got back from the Beach Club. Loved the location! DD is in a wheelchair and I had the same issues in mind as you. It worked out great. We walked to Epcot, over to the Board Walk, took the boat to HS. We had no problems with the buses to AK and MK either. Only one day were there a scooter and her wheelchair on the same bus, but they fit fine and the bus drivers were very helpful. There is lots to see and do in that area (watch illuminations from the foot bridge to Epcot) you won't be disappointed!! Have fun!!
