First - these boards are very dangerous!! I thought I had it worked out. We reserved a room at YC - easy I thought - we'll ask for waterview and hope we get lakeside. No problem!! But then I kept reading and reading and hearing all these wonderful stories of people with beautiful views of Epcot (like France) and so I'm right back where I started.

So here's the issue - which is more romantic and relaxing after a long day in the parks. Lake side or Epcot side? Can you see Epcot from YC or would I need to move to BC? I don't remember, but are the buildings in Epcot lit up for part of the night? Help!!

We stayed at a waterview room at the YC and LOVED it!! It was just the 2 of us & the view of the Boardwalk all lit up at night across the lake was breathtaking!! We could also see the "Eiffel Tower", but Boardwalk at night is far prettier than seeing some of the buildings at Epcot. Plus having a balcony on which to see the view was the big factor in our choosing YC over BC.

At the YC, lake view IS Epcot view!
You will have a view of crescent lake, the BW, and some of Epcot, mainly the Eiffel Tower!

It is wonderful! :)

Beware that waterview does not always mean lakeview!!! I had booked a waterview room at YC for the first week of December. Upon check-in, we were placed in a room on the first floor, that was supposed to be overlooking the quiet pool (if you stood on a chair and craned your neck to the left). This was also a room with a prime view of the service entrance where the laundry carts were brought in and out. That was our primary view - carts filled with dirty linens parked in fron of our patio for 10-15 minutes at a time.

When we got to our room, I was entirely dissatisfied. I called down to the front desk, and told them I had booked and paid for waterview (I had also faxed a request for a view of the lake on a higher floor, though I didn't mention that as I know specififc requests are not guarenteed). I was told that a waterview room means a view of any water, be it a pool or a lake. That would have been somewhat OK, but you really, truly could not see the water of the quiet pool unless you stood on the chair! They told me they were entirely sold out, no other rooms, too bad, I had no other options.

I was VERY dissapointed. This was my 30th birthday trip and I spent big bucks to have a nice view. I started to unpack, and DH told me he was going for a walk. Ten minutes later, he returned with key cards to another room - this one on the 4th floor, overlooking the lake. He had gone to the front desk, and pleaded our case, and they gave him a better room.

So, be aware - a waterview room could mean a room in the vicinity of the quiet pool with no waterview at all!
