Hi there! I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm so confused with all these different restaurants/character meals. Is there a good place to start?

We've been to WDW twice, but have never done any decent meals and I'm not even sure where to find them? It all seems so difficult to navigate around and figure out where all the places are. Does that make sense?

We are doing the dining plan and staying at All Stars Movies. 2 adults, 2 kids (son will be 8 and daughter is 5). I'd like to do a few character meals and the hoop de doo sounds cool. How do I find out about them/where they are/etc...

Also, do I even have enough time to schedule anything? We were planning on going in April, but have suddenly changed our plans to Feb. 21-28.

Thanks for any help, I feel so lost!! :confused3

We just got home Sunday night from our first trip to the Fort. :sad1:

If you can do the Hoop-de-doo ($50/adults $25/kids), do it. It was a great show. All you can eat chicken and ribs family style and it was really good.

We also did Crystal Palace lunch buffet and Donald's Breakfastorous. Both were awesome; just don't do them on the same day. Your stomach can only hold so much! :thumbsup2

Definitely call now for reservations. You'll have to pay for the Hoop-de-Doo when reserving.

Well, asking here is a good place to start! ;)

Recommendations are always helpful. That's how I first ate at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

I guess you should decide which characters you really want to see? Where would you like to eat? At the parks for breakfast or maybe dinner before you leave?

Do you like steak? Do you want a couple of non-character meals?

These are my recommendations with kids; of course you don't have to do them all!

Crystal Palace breakfast (or dinner) with Pooh and friends at Magic Kingdom

Chef Mickey's dinner (or breakfast) with Mickey and friends at the Contemporary resort, which you can take the monorail to or walk to from Magic Kingdom

Le Cellier for a good steak dinner (no characters) at Epcot in Canada.

There's a princess meal in Epcot in Norway which is good if you have little girls. I recommend breakfast. The lunch and dinner food isn't that great.

There's a nice Cinderella dinner meal at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. You can do that after a day at Magic Kingdom.

Kona Cafe has a great breakfast. No characters. It's at the Poly on the monorail.

We enjoy eating at 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM for dinner. It's not a character meal but has a cute 50's theme.

We like doing the Fantasmic package at Hollywood & Vine. They are a buffet restaurant. With the package, you can avoid the regular Fantasmic line. You can enter 30 minutes before the show through a special package entrance.

Animal Kingdom has some great counter service like Tusker house and Pizzafari!

A GREAT place to see all the restaurants and their menus is HERE

Good luck deciding!! Hopefully it's not to late to book some!

I am no expert but I will do what I can to help.
First of all you need to decide quick where you want to eat because it is already very late to make ADR's (which is pretty much a reservation). I learned everything from these boards and for the most part I found the general consensus is right on the money. You can check out menus on this site as well as www.allearsnet.com to check out prices and variety. In my opinion HDDR is a must do! Such fun. Here are a few of my other fav's.

Le Cellier (excellent food)
50's prime time cafe (great fun, really good food)
California Grill (good food, cant beat the view, but a little expensive)

other places people seem to really like are

Chef Mickeys
Boma
Ohana'

I think with any of the above you really cant go wrong but be sure to decide soon and try to make those ADR's. Good luck, Melissa
