I have never received a pin, by snail mail or email. I have done everything in all the years I have gone to get one. I have helped others with their vacations and they get them, not me. If you have gotten a pin help me answer some questions and lets see who is getting them.

Did you get an offer on a new email account?
Do you clear your "cookies" before you go onto Disney site?
Did you save a package or room only?
Do you save package with dining?
If so, what dining package did you save, QS,DDP?
What type ticket did you save?
How many days was on the offer you saved?
How old are your kids?
What dates did you save?
Do you save value, moderate,deluxe....?
Do you get Disney Destinations emails like monthly "Hello" and Explore online?
Do you chat online when trying to save offers?
Do you save itineraries?
On itineraries do you mark you need tickets?
On itineraries do you mark you need a room?
Have you filled out your profile on Disney site?
On your profile, do you mark how many times you've visited Disney?

Thanks a bunch and thank you for the insight of those getting pins:worship:

Something else that could help:
I only get pins to addresses where I no longer live. You can change the address in your profile before booking the vacation so it matches

Hi! I got a PIN (40% off deluxe) a few weeks ago. I had started logging into my account the last few weeks of Dec. Played around on the site, saved both room only & packages. I made it a point to save a value, a moderate & a deluxe resort. And different months : May, Sept (when we go) & Nov ( we were considering the week before Thanksgiving).

If I did a package, I did parkhopper tickets & maybe added dining to one of the saved vacations. I did not chat if the option came up. I'd log in & price stuff, then not log in again for a few days. Next time same thing, maybe look at a few resort pages & dining menus.

I also signed onto an account I had made for my DH a few years ago. Did the same thing, but not as much.

First week of Jan, I got the PIN by snail mail. About 10 days later, an email PIN came to my DH's account (same offer). However, that email offer was for my DD & DSIL. They had traveled with us last year. They were listed with us; I didn't know my DD's email when I booked. And we ended up getting an AP discount for part of our trip so they were actually listed in a room with DH or I. So even tho they account wa for my DH, the offer was for my DSIL & DD.

I didn't order the DVD, maps or call & ask about A PIN.

Good luck! Hope you get an offer!! pixiedust:

We get them in the mail every now and then, but never through email. I don't stress about it though. You can normally find the same or similar discounts at themouseforless.com

i agree, i get pins from time to time, I have no clue how though.

Yet, I have never had a pin give me any more of a discount that what the current public discount going is.

Maybe have you tried requesting one of the vacation planning CD's ?

I have always traveled to Disney with a discount that I have found on the DIS:thumbsup2, that said, I just want a pin code. Pin codes are usually a peek at GP discounts allowing a greater booking window since they come first. Also, pins can be better than GP discounts ( or at least they have been in the past).

Saw you ticker and good luck on the graduation trip. We did that 2 years ago, taking our DS and 4 of his friends with us. One of the best Disney vacations we have had.

Done that, have two from every year for the past 10 years, yes they were VHS:rotfl2:

I got an email with a link to book at 25% off Value/40% off deluxe. I don't really read the promotional material that we get from Disney unless we are planning to go so not sure if we get pins/codes/links all the time...

We had been discussing a trip in 2011 so I went online and booked and put $200 deposit. A few weeks later, changed our mind about the dates and called back to cancel. They did ask why and I just indicated we changed our minds. Two days after cancelling the trip, got a snail mail pin for 35% off value/mod and 40% of deluxe/villa. I think the cancel triggered the snail mail pin - if not kind of a weird coincidence.

hope this helps your pin quest!

I get PINs, but it is never random with me. It is always after I log in, save offers, set up itineraries, or order a planning DVD/maps. I have never received a PIN without having done at least one of the above.

You will hate this answer:

I got a PIN code mailer, addressed to my husband (I booked our last trip and was the primary guest), and it came to our NEW house (had lived here under 5 months)...I never changed my address officially with Disney in any capacity, and had not logged into the Disney website in...months, if not a year or so! AND THEY STILL FOUND US. And it worked...I had booked a trip within a week!:lmao: We had talked about a vacation but hadn't really even started looking anywhere or planning...got the mailer the next day. So does the Mouse have my house bugged?? Those are some pretty big ears!:rotfl:

Honestly, I have done none of the above. We have gone to Disney about one time every two years, for the last fourteen years. I do not have an account at the Disney World site, and do not log in. I have never saved an itinerary or booked a reservation online. I don't usually look at the mailers unless we are planning a trip already. In fact, for years we didn't even stay at a Disney resort.

The only thing I can think of that may have triggered me receiving a snail mail (don't get emails from them) PIN this year, was that last year I booked a site at the Fort Wilderness campground, and then cancelled because I didn't want to spend the $$ to drive the motorhome 1500 miles to Florida.

Thanks everyone, hope this helps people understand the why or why not someone may or may not get a pin. There is truely no rhyme nor reason to anyone getting something.

That said, I still want a pin !!

My mother-in-law gets pins all the time via snail mail. She does not own a computer/never has. She does not travel/has never flown/has never been to Disney and has no plans to ever go there and is 77yrs old.

I have a theory about why she gets pin#, I think Disney targets certain geographical areas , my mother-in-law lives in a very affluent small town in Connecticut.

All I know is it drive me nuts everytime she gets one
.

In amidst my planning we got a pin... with my dh name on it. He isnt on disneys site nor has he signed up for emails or req. a video. I have however signed him up for sweepestakes on disneys site to win a trip. That is it for him
Last half of last year I got 4 email pins.

I have done everything humanly possible to trigger getting the pin# and it has all been in vain.
Then Saturday in my email I say DisneyDestinations :banana:only to open said email and low and behold my Disney Pals were sending me a "free Letterhead" to download :sad2:

Then on Sunday I rec'd the same email for a second time :scared1:

What is a person to do ? :surfweb:

I sorta figure I should just give up since if I ever do recieve the pin# there will be no availablity for the resort I want to stay at seeing how long this pin# has been floating around.

When they sent out the pin# for FD last year for the blacked out weeks, mine came 2 weeks after I had first started seeing people mention getting the pin, mine came the same day as a friend of mine our last names start with "S" and "T" so I came to the conclusion they sent that mailer out alphabetically :confused3 , but there really is no rhyme or reason with the % off pins it would seem :upsidedow

Also, remember to give the reservations number a call every week. I also have been searching my email in vain for a pin code and when I called 2 weeks ago, I had nothing. But I called again Saturday and did have a 40% pin code under my name.

About a few weeks ago, I saved about 5 vacations in my account. I don't know if that triggered it or I just got lucky.

So keep checking every week (don't be embarrassed- you'll be getting a new person each time!).

My DH and I have been going to WDW since we were little and the only time I got a PIN was in 2005 when they first offered FD and it was emailed to me, we go yearly and I normally use public codes but DH called and asked and was told they have no idea to marketing reasoning of how they give out codes. Nice rep said he would email and try to find out..

This is pretty much what I did and we got a snail mail pin, an email pin to both accounts.. and Dh has gotten the special offer emails several times to his email.

Not a bad idea, I have not checked since Jan 20th, maybe I will give it a day or two I just saved a few new vacations on DH's account.

I just checked my name and DH's (she said they would be under the same account??). No code.

I then was like "well guess we won't be going." the CM was like "well there are other deals out there." And I was just like "yeah, but we won't go unless we can get the best deal. so oh well!"

I know we are still going to go, but I'm just annoyed that I can't get a code. :lmao:
