Hello!

As we're going over to Florida in November we thought it might be a good opportunity to meet with some photographers.

We could really do with some suggestions however as we are struggling to find a photographer with a style we like which fits with our budget!!
I love The Roots, Studio 222 and Jason Angelini (who took Wendy's gorgeous photos) but we can only really afford to spend around $1500 and I'm sure this rules all of them out.

Can anyone make a suggestion which may fit with what we're after?! Your help is appreciated!

Try Randy Chapman, Chapman Photography.

His style fits ours, and we are going with the package he has for Escape weddings. He's very affordable.

Jason created a special package for us because we only needed him for 5 hours (instead of his typical 6 hour and up packages) and we spent less than your budget that included the 5 hours and a DVD of images. I hope that helps and I totally recommend contacting him to see what he can do for you! :goodvibes

Studio 222 cost us $1200 for four hours. I don't know if it's changed because it's been over a year though...it can't hurt emailing all of the people you listed though and asking about prices and trying to negotiate. The worst they can say is no.

This has changed.... I'm paying almost twice that for 5 hours of coverage...:headache::guilty:

Try FatCatz Photography I'm getting a great deal through them. They are willing to working with you need and budget too. Tara and Nicole are a mix of traditional shots with modern photojournalism like Roots. I can't rave enough about them.

i called my step mom today and told her to save her money.... i'm going with the Roots no matter what!!

I second David and Vicki Ardnt. Their work is absolutely amazing and we saved a *ton* of money by using them. We just had our engagement shoot with them 2 weeks ago and the pics are stunning. I highly recommend them!

HTH! :goodvibes

I THIRD the arndt's Go to my PJ and you will see a link of my engagement pictures with them. Also their Facebook we are the profile picture right now and we have an amazing slide show!!

David and Vicki Arndt are the two most amazing and eazy going people to work with!! We had our engagement session with them in April 10' and have already booked them for your June 12' Wedding at WDW. I you have any questions about them I will be very happy to ask. You can order VERY nice pictures and albums, we have already ordered our two epics for the house (also in my PJ) and plan on getting our guestbook from them soon!! Good luck and let me know who you choose!!

I customized my package to 6 hours and CD only with Randy Chapman and spent just over $1000. It was a great price.

I did call The Roots and they were willing to give me a customized CD-only package for 5 hours for $3k. That's a steal for them. Just talk to whoever you choose and explain that you're on a budget and tell them what you'd like to spend. In this economy I'm sure almost every photographer is willing to work with you on prices.

I say contact the photographers with your budget and how long your minimum coverage would be. Also foregoing heirloom albums and just getting a CD of images will def. save you some money.

Research photographers and look for new faces that you haven't heard of before on the boards even, you might find up and coming talents that are getting started and are not as popular willing to give you a nice package deal. If they have a blog, follow it for a while to observe their consistency and style and see if they fit your vision.

Go with the Arndts...you will get more than your money's worth. They photographed my daughter's wedding last Thursday(Aug. 5, 2010) and I just can not say enough GREAT things about them. We booked a basic 4-hour package, but Vicki and David were still there snapping away an hour after they should have left! I haven't peeked at one picture yet and I am recommending them to everyone! Just let them know what your preferred style is...send them pics that you like...they can do anything! I merely described a picture my new son-in-law saw on a wall in a wedding planner's office, and David and Vicki shot something that looked even better! I can't wait to see the picture itself, because just the staging was awesome! A guest at my daughter's wedding commented on how great it was to have a photographer capturing the big moments while another got all the details...I couldn't have said it better!

Yea you really have to be in on the ground floor with photographers.

I remember reading on a blog about a budget Disney wedding that some girl paid like $1600 for the Roots for her Wishes wedding...so I was like 'ok, that's feasible."....then I email them and it's $2500 for 4 hours. So I balked and like 5 months later thought to myself, 'oh man I should just pay'...so I emailed again, and then they wanted like $4000! :scared1:

The good thing though was they recommended Studio 222 as up and comers, so it worked out. So another suggestion would be to email photographers you like and see if they have recommendations.

I suggest Misty...She provides discounts as well for Disney Brides...We got that discount...and then just before a conference they went to offered another % off to the first 3 people that emailed them back and could pay in full. We came in grossly under budget! :thumbsup2

(No worries...I used that money elsewhere...:rolleyes1)

Misty Miotto is the best!! Give her a call and see if she can work with your budget.

Thank you so much everyone for all the suggestions. It is a shame that we can't afford to have our first couple of choices but I have seen so many beautiful photos on here from a range of photographers, that I'm not too upset!!

I will sit down with my DF as soon as possible and look at all the websites suggested. I've already emailed a couple of people to see what they can offer us so fingers crossed we will find someone we both like and can fit into our budget!!!

We are also using David and Vicki Arndt their photos are fantastic and the package they have put together for us is perfect.

hth :D
