I am planning a trip to WDW this summer. I am traveling with my DH, DD12, DS 4, DN 4. I am trying to decide between the CR, POR Riverside, and POLY Concierge. So far we have stayed at CBR, Dixie Landings, Fort Wilderness Cabins, BCV( rented points) and lastly the Poly. The Poly is the resort that got me hooked on traveling to Disney every year. :lovestruc I am now convinced that I only feel the magic when I stay at a MK resort. That being said, the Poly is still very expensive and we stayed there on disocunt code. I know all the bad and good stuff about the CR but is a MK Tower view for 6 nights worth $2500. Or should I go with $2500 at POR water view, trundle tickets and dining plan? Lastly and the most expensive but maybe worth it is Poly Garden View concierge for $2950. I know the obvious choice money wise would be POR, but how will I fare there with two 4year olds and no rental car. Also my DS does not do so well in restaurants. :bounce: I could tell you afew horror stories that occurred at Cape May and Ohanas! lol. The CR seems great because we can watch fireworks and stuff from the room, what would I do couped up in the room at POR, since my DH and DD will most likely leave me in the room at night with the sleeping kids. Also Concierge sounds great because I plan to spend most of the day at the hotel( due to Fl summer heat and humidity) and hit the parks in late afternoon. My DH thinks I'm crazy help!

If it were me I say go for CR tower. I understand the difficulty justifying all this extra money when at POR you get so much more but with 5 people in one room if we could swing it I would do CR especially because of the access to MK. Think about it with two 4 year olds it will be a lot easier to leave MK step on a monorail and then step right off. One stop and that's it and to be honest it's the leaving that tends to be more difficult with little ones then the arriving. Poly Conc. sounds nice but how much will you really get to use it and is that amount of time worth the price difference? I vote for CR but if not that Poly would be my second choice. I love POR but if I could do a MK resort I would in a heart beat. princess:

Thanks, I was leaning more towards CR as well. Do you think a Tower Mk view will be a renovated room in early July. I would hate topay all that money and get a crappy, although large room. Also just curious what hotel that holds 5 in a room has the best( shaded) playground and kiddie pool. We plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel. Does CR?

No not really. Their pool needs updating but the playground is nice but not shaded. WL is great for both of those and you can see wishes but you will be paying as much to stay there as you would to stay at the Poly.

Even thought you didn't list it I recommend WL as it is a Deluxe property with all of the perks but without the cost. It is a lot cheaper than the POLY and the GF.

I know you mentioned the fact that you liked bring near the parks...but since you travel every year and like moderate or deluxe what about buying into DVC? You said you rented points once...maybe that is the way to go...permantently.

I would do the Poly Garden concierge. As much as my family LOVES the Contemporary, concierge is the way to go - especially with kids. We have done the Poly concierge LV, and the rooms are large, close to the pool, nice lounge and yummy snacks & drinks all day. The rooms are being redone at this time, so you would get a beautiful & updated room in the concierge building.

I can absolutely relate to your feelings of wanting to be near the MK. For about the past 13 years that was it for us. We have finally ventured out to do split stays at the Epcot resorts and found a new kind of magic over there! :wizard:

When we go to WDW in the summer, we avoid the CR due to the fact that it's pool is ugly. ;) Sorry, but it is. There is nothing lush or tropical out there, it is all cement - a cement pond. When I go to FL, especially in summer, I want palm trees and flowers and foliage!

Poly has a fun pool & slide and a zero depth entry (as does the GF - my fave). Another thing, we went this summer with some DVC friends and they pool hopped to the GF to visit us. They were staying at the VWLodge and they were VERY disappointed in the pool over there. Not enough shallow areas, hard to watch the kids, and pretty small, too. They really enjoyed the GF pool with us. And they did say they felt isolated at Wilderness Lodge & it didn't feel like Florida, but more like Wisconsin. (we are in IL)

Can't comment on POR. I am a deluxe girl all the way. princess:

Happy planning!

Thanks for all the reply's but I still can't decide. WL would have been my first choice after the Poly until my DD announced that she hated the woody theme.(we visited WL and AKL on our last trip). By the way she hated AKL. She said I am not swimming in green water.lol. Also the WL only holds 4 with an infant, and I have 5. The DVC resorts are great but WLV (daughter hates), BCV and BWV( not a fan of the Epcot area) and OKW and SSR seem too spread out for my taste. What's a girl to do. Waiting for a Monorail DVC!!!!
My DD is also a pool critic, she absolutley loved the Poly pools, and preferred it over SAB!!! From the previous post I'm now concerned that she will hate the CR pool. From what I've read POR pool is good, but room is tiny an no balcony. Looks like I might be breaking the bank again with Poly Concierge.
