I was so excited and "set" on having a 10:15 ADR at Tusker House. It seemed perfect. Park opens at 8 for EMH hours, we'd tour for about 2 hours before breakfast, have a late breakfast and then we'd finish up whatever needed to still be seen and be out by early afternoon. And then...

In a post by another person, someone had a bad experience with a late seating at Tusker House for breakfast. In this particular case, they were running wayyyyyy behind and the family waited something like 45 minutes to be seated. They were ready to switch over to lunch, so they were rushing the characters out. Daisy breezed through so fast that the kids didn't even get to get a picture with her, so the parents had to go get the manager to bring Daisy back. NIGHTMARE!

Is this the norm for Tusker House? I know that things can happen anywhere, but I need to know if this is the norm???

I currently have three options. Please give me your expert advice and tell me what YOU would do!

Option 1: Keep the 10:15 ADR and don't sweat it. It'll be fine.

Option 2: Reschedule for a 9:35 ADR on the same day. Even if they are running behind, you'll still get in before they start get antsy about lunch.

Option 3: Switch it to a day earlier (no EMH morning hours) and take an 8:30 ADR.

I'll be honest, Option 3 doesn't really appeal to me, but we'd do it if it was the best of the three options based upon y'all's experiences.

Thanks in advance!

I hate to respond b/c I haven't been, but I had a similar dilemma with MK and CP this week.

Anyway, if it was me, I would be nervous going that late - it's only 15 mins before breakfast closes right? You might either have the problem with seeing all the characters or getting all the food.

That being said, when I posted my questions, people generally responded very positively about late breakfast ADRs, but I didn't get any specific experiences about Tusker House.

Anyway, I'd go option 2. You still get almost an hour and a half in of the "golden hours". And - to sweeten option 2 - maybe someone in your party can go run and get FPs before you go eat? Since you might be at breakfast for 90 mins at least, you'll be almost ready to get a 2nd FP by the time you're done eating.

I can't comment on the other two options, because I have only done an 8:05 ADR with park opening at 9:00. This worked out great. Sure, we had to get the kids up plenty early, but we had a very relaxed, fresh breakfast with ZERO waiting and we were out in the park in time to be first on the rides.

When are you going? If you are going during a more slower season, I would opt for option #1. I will be doing option #1 myself in about 4 weeks :). I have done this in the past in October and we were ok.

June 13-23. The date we'd be at AK is 6/20.
