I'm having a tough time deceiding on whether or not to book the dining plan this trip. I have used it twice before.

Here are the details-

Traveling solo, but I like to plan one TS per day. I'm not really big on CS but will make an effort to use them if I've paid for them

My plans are

Le Cellier D
Mama Melrose L
Tutto Italia L
LTT L
Tusker House L
Boma D
Spoodles D
Kona D

and paying OOP for The Plaza and a Fantasmic Package at Brown Derby.

In all honesty I'm more of a appetizer person than dessert and will probably pay OOP for at least a couple of appetizers. But since the dessert is included I'm sure I'll order them and have at least a taste.

Opinions?

Wow that's a lot of ADRs. How many days are you going for? Would it be worth it to you to pay for the DxDP? Then Brown Derby would be covered as well for two credits.

8 nights. Arriving early and leaving late so lets say 8 and a half days there. As much as I'd love to try the deluxe plan sometime it's not going to be this trip.

Hi there, IMHO, you might want to just pay OOP if you are planning for mostly TS, think about all the tips you'll have to pay out too, especially if you would like apps and might not especially want the desserts....maybe print out the menus and do a price comparison. That's what we did for our trip coming up in 8 days...its going to be a smidge cheaper to NOT do the DDP.

Let me know what you decide...hope that helps a little.

I've done the whole menu and price thing. If I make the effort to use the CS credits I'll probably do a little better than break even. On the other hand, I'd probably be fine skipping a few CS, would never order dessert with CS if not on the plan and only occassionaly at TS. I think if I wasn't going to Le Cellier and Tutto Italia it would be an easy "no" but the prices on those menus may be the tipping point.

You've made really good choices...it might not be TOO hard to find some counter services, say for breakfast or whatever. It's really a fine line to walk whether to choose the DDP or not...decisions, decisions...

For me it comes down to enjoyment of my vacation. I don't like the feeling of forcing myself to do something that I wouldn't normally (Eat CS, order desserts at TS) in order to experience a 'savings' with the DDP versus paying OOP.

For others they will not feel forced into those things, and will enjoy the comfort of having their meals prepaid. That may be more your style, and that's perfectly normal as way.

I can't give more advice to you other than to say follow your heart on what will help make your vacation the best vacation possible.

Why not use your CS for breakfast? That's what we've done in the past and used TS for dinners.
