Hi everyone!! Can you please help me chose a moderate hotel?
3 30-something females going early September, and I can't decide which property to pick (don't want to do CBR as I will be staying here in Jan 2005).

I have these in the order that I prefer:

POFQ
CS
POR

Which would you chose?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!!

I'd say POFQ...newly renovated rooms, a great pool with a big waterslide, boat to Downtown Disney. Plus the scenery and landscaping is beautiful. Hope this helps!

I'd say either of the Port Orleans properties (even though I much prefer the theming of the Caribbean Beach, but I see you're saving that for another trip). Coronado Springs is just too far away from everything (and it's way too "convention") for my liking.

:sunny:

I picket POFQ. I have stayed at POR but not CSR. To me POR was a bit to spread out and looks like CSR would be the same. We had quite a little hike to the bus stop. POFQ is smaller and I have seen pictures of the reburbished rooms and it looks really wonderful. And you could still use that pool and the POR pool too!

Another vote for POFQ. We stayed there October 2003 and are returning in May. It is quaint and it doesn't hurt that it just had a major refurb.
I wasn't a big fan of CSR when we stayed. It was a hike to get anywhere and it was just too big and convention-like to feel "homey."
POFQ all the way. I won't even look at POR since its so spread out.

I know that I'm a minority here but I just didn't enjoy POR. We live in the northeast and the theming here was too much like home. CSR was such a different atmosphere than what we're used to looking at that it really seemed like we were someplace far away. We loved the pyramid pool, it is beautiful! We always found a space at the 22 person hot tub at the end of a long Disney day! (unlike the POR, we stayed there for 5 nights and never once was able to get in the hot tub at the end of the day due to it being full. And we went in the middle of September when the crowds are low!)
The casitas section is a bit "conventiony", we stayed in this section once. But if you are over in the cabanas or ranchos, you don't run into the suits.
The bus situation is excellent, CSR has buses that don't stop at any other resorts and we never had to wait more that 10 minutes for a bus.
Location is actually very close to Epcot, MGM and AK. The only longish ride was the MK.
CSR also has more amenities than POR. They have health club, a Salon, surrey bikes, watercraft rentals, and great hammocks to sun yourself in at the cabanas.
In my opinion it is the deluxe of moderate resorts!

My DW and I have stayed at all three:
1999 - POR (Alligator Bayou)
2000 - CSR (Ranchos)
2003 - POFQ
We enjoyed all three but we would both agree that POFQ was our favorite and we hope to stay there again next trip. The theme was really nice and it's small while the other two are very spead out. The bus stops first at POFQ so you are seated when it heads over to POR. The only drawback is the lack of a real restaurant but it is only a 6 or 7 minute walk over to POR. The snack bar is pretty good at POFQ. The spa is nice and it is secluded from the pool so there were very few kids in it when we were there. If you do stay at either POFQ or POR, be sure to try to catch Bob "The Piano Man" one evening at the lounge at POR. He is hilarious!
Enjoy your trip!

I also voted for POFQ. It's not too spread out, you can use the facilities at POR and it was recently refurbished. I'm staying there in May and I can't wait.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts - I'm going to pass this along to the other 2 and see if they trust my choice :D !

I can't wait to go - this is an unexpected trip!!!
