Hi!

I am planning a trip to WDW and need help choosing a moderate resort. Which one do you usually stay at and why do you like it? Also, is there a certain "section" that is a better for location to the restaurants and bus stops? Is the preferred section worth the extra $$? Also, how is the bus service from your favorite resort?

I do not need a lot of amenities as I plan to spend a lot of time at the parks. I just want convenience. I'd go for a value resort, but I have heard they are very noisy. I thought the moderates might be a better way to go.

Thank you for all your opinions!!

My favorite has to be POFQ because its quiet and the wait for the bus is very short. The atmosphere is beautiful and the pool is awesome!
I also like POR but between the two FQ has a faster bus service and is much more relaxing.

I personnally love POR. I've stayed in both sections but our room in June was in bldg 14 in AB...so close to the main bldg and food court it was ridiculous. I think it took about 30 seconds to walk there.
I really enjoy the food court at POR. The pools are good, there are many other than the one main pool. One of the things that is so nice about POR is just walking around the resort. It is so laid back and relaxing. Very nicely themed. I never have had an issue with the bus system either.

I have 2. My favorite had been Coronado hands down UNTIL I went to FQ this year. Well lets just say it gave the Coronado a serious run for its money. I love the FQ, but I still can't decide which is a favorite.

Coronado is awesome because it has a huge pool that is very neat and I like the theme of it. It has a nice lake and its nice to take walk around at dusk or in the morning. I also like the food court.

FQ is gorgous and very pretty, its a very small resort for a moderate so no matter what bldg you are in, you are close to everything. We stayed in bldg 1 and had a water view even though we didn't pay for it.

Its a toss up between those 2.

POR! All the rooms have been recently refurbished and are so nice. POR just has wonderful charm with its "old south" theme. It's such a pleasure to return there after a hectic day at the parks. We always loved the mansion section, until our last visit when we stayed in the bayou area and just LOVED it! It's now our favorite side. Try to request bldg. 14 or 18, as it can get very hard to find your building on this side. Otherwise stay on the mansion side. Either way you will have a wonderful stay!

Enjoy!

Couldn't have said it any better. POFQ is the best.

My choice is for POR. We just got back on Sunday and it was an amazing moderate resort. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace in room 8912. Magnolia Terrace is awesome because you are near two bus stops - South Depot and East Depot and also it is a five minute walk to the food court and gift shop. It is awesome and such a beautiful building. We loved it!

Thanks so much for your input. Looks like POFQ is what I am looking for- not too big, quiet and all the buildings are close to the bus stop and food court. :teeth: I appreciate the input!

CSR is a great resort! Check out my CSR website below. Just remember that POFQ is a very small resort and CSR is much larger.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

CSR is our family favorite. Best pool area of all the moderates. Our kids love the slide so much it is tough to get them out of the pool. Check out Buzz's site for info.
