Hi all,

Hoping you can help me schedule my Universal/IOA day for our upcoming trip. My DH and I were in Disney in August and planned to do Universal at that time, but I kept checking my rides app and the lines were HORRIBLE the entire time we were in FL, so we decided to wait and try again for our December trip. Which is now almost here!! We definitely want to go, even if it is crowded, but IF I can pick a less crowded day that would be fantastic.

We will be in Disney 12/14 - 12/23. Of those dates:
12/14 and 12/23 are out due to being partial days/checking in and out, etc
12/18 is out because we are doing MVMCP
12/20 is out because of CP

Of the remaining dates, what do you think is our best bet for low(er) crowds at Universal? We've been down to Disney & Universal sooo many times, but never in December so I just have no idea what to expect as far as lines.

*We will not be buying their fast passes*

Thanks!

avoid saturdays as they can have crowds.

mid december should be fine.

the closer you get to christmas is when you start seeing the crowds.

sunday could be a decent day for the parks.
peeps usually travel sundays back home which leaves the parks more managable.

If you can fit it on the 16th would probably be the best. The 19th may be okay too. In fact other than the 18th, none of your other interference days would be best days to go IMHO. Have fun. :thumbsup2

sunday the 16th would be a date that might be best crowdwise.

i hesitate for saying monday for some reason.

the farther out from the holidays, better for less crowds in the park.

Thanks so much! I have marked down Sunday the 16th on our trip calendar. :)

after your trip is over, can you return here and let us know your thoughts on doing the park that sunday? (referring to crowd situation)

i have not read of anyone posting that sundays were awful for them.

i'd be happy to read that the advice we gave you is accurate.

since so many families travel on the weekends, it's either saturday to saturday or mainly saturday/sunday to sunday when they leave.
that is why i have found that sundays, especially afternoon are great low attendance periods to do the darkside.

but, for summer vacations and holidays, and when a new ride is opened, the Sunday rule doesn't always hold true
