I ordered a shirt on ebay, from a seller that uses the ebay shipping service and DID NOT offer insurance (on the listing it says not available/offered).

Well, today I received an empty envelope! With a sticker from the post office taht says "received unsealed" and "received without contents". My hunch is that there was never a shirt in the package. It's a paper envelope (not tyvek) and there was a clear piece of tape that covers the middle half of where the package is sealed.

Certainly not how I would package something.

I literally just got it out of my mailbox, what should I do? I have not contacted the seller yet!

I'd contact the seller ASAP!!! CALL him/her if there's a listed phone number. Good luck!

It is probably in your best interest to use email for your correspondence with the seller, that way you have a paper trail for proof. Keep every scrap of evidence/paperwork relating to the sale.
A couple of questions:
Did you pay with Paypal? If so, did you use your credit card? It is almost impossible to get your money back otherwise. Paypal makes it very hard to use your credit card, as your bank account is the default and they make you jump thru hoops to use your cc.
There should be a help forum on this topic on Ebay, read it carefully!
Good luck to you!

I did use paypal, I used a "real" credit card, not a debit. I am only a buyer on paypal, I don't have a bank account linked to my paypal account.

The seller has 100% feedback, and a lot (several hundred at least), so I am feeling a little better about it. It's just so weird! I think I'm done with ebay!

Chances are they seller will want to keep their 100% rating and so would probably work with you on this. It sounds like it was an honest mistake.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Perfect! With a credit card, you know the CC company will reimburse the account if the seller doesn't come through. Also, it's great that the seller has 100% feedback. It probably was just a mail problem and they will refund your $$ or send you a replacement. If not, here's the link for resolution:

Check with your CC company to see how many days you have before you make a claim against the amount charged to your card.

Unbelievable! Definitely dispute through your CC, although I think there is a limit on the $ amount...Might not be worth it if the shirt was cheap.
