I hope it turns up. Something similar happened to my son's iPod touch recently. He had been saving "forever" to get an iPod. He finally bought one and had it several months. He and some friends went to a movie and he had his iPod in a small backpack. They sat on a bench near the theater waiting for their ride. He walked off without the backpack, realized it within 5 minutes, went back and it was gone. So, he's back to saving again!
The labels are a great idea because there are honest people who would return it if they found it. I recently bought a bunch of heavy duty "stuffbak" labels. (www.stuffbak.com) You register with stuffbak and put the labels on your stuff. If it's lost and an honest person finds it, they go through stuffbak to report it is found and they can return it without cost to them. Stuffbak takes care of it. They also get a reward and you can offer more of a reward as incentive.
I am so sorry you lost your camera! I lost my camera a couple of years ago on the Disney Magic. I was so sure someone would turn it in - I mean everyone there was trying to create memories for their families right? How could someone steal my memories? I was so upset! It was never turned in. Luckily we docked in St. Maarten the next day and bought a new camera there. Still, I was sad to have lost pictures that I had taken up to that point. The DCL people were really kind - they gave me a disposable camera and the CD had wine delivered to us at dinner.
Keep checking back with Lost and Found. Items take a while sometimes to get there, get inventoried, etc....
Lost a Disneyland Paris sweatshirt on Main Street at Disneyland last year. I know exactly where and when I lost it. Took 5 steps, looked back, and it was gone. It was never turned in. That sweatshirt had a lot of meaning to me and was for all purposes, is irreplaceable. Every time I walk by that spot on Main Street I think about it. However, it's nothing compared to photos. I hope whoever found your camera, turns it in.
