We are DW veterans, but will be making our first trip to DL, so please bear with me.

Our 3 year old daughter has been diagnosed with many allergies, I am not very concerned about the food ones, but she is very allergic to dust mites.

The thing is that a hotel room with drapes, carpet and not very clean bed linens will certainly make her sick, so I was wondering if there is a nice hotel (would prefer really close to the parks) that has no carpets in the room and where I can request fresh bedspreads and drapes because of my DD´s allergies.

TIA

The Motel 6-Anaheim Maingate has "Fake" hardwood floors, no carpet.
The rooms are newly remodeled, and were clean for us.

It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the turnstyles.

Agree with above poster, Motel 6 is probably the only motel in the area without carpeting.

Additionally, I would request an allergy cleaning wherever you decide to stay. Some offer it and some don't, and you may have to check in a little later... but it does make a difference.

Motel 6 won´t work since they accept animals and my daughter is very allergic to dogs, but it is good to know that it is carpet free.

Thank you, I didn´t know that I could request an allergy cleaning at some hotels, and those respire rooms at the Hyatt are new to me too.

Still, if anyone else has allergy experience with a particular hotel really close to the turnstiles, I will be grateful if you can share :)

Well, we have stayed at just about all the motels close to the turnstiles, but we travel with a service dog (2 in fact, 1 hearing, 1 in training). The cleanest places would have to be Camelot or Candy Cane, they both have shutters instead of drapes, and neither use bedspreads.

I have very severe allergies (mold, dust mites, environmental, etc) and severe asthma.

I actually don't know of any hotel besides the Motel 6 that has anything but carpet. I think that will be extremely hard to find in hotels.

Also, I know this is a pain, but you can always bring your own bedding if necessary.

We do that whenever we travel. We have no choice because I have severe chemical allergies and most detergents make me break out in hives so we bring pillowcases, sheets and blankets everywhere we travel.

Sheraton has the PURE allergy friendly rooms but I believe the Cerritos is the only one and is too far away.

Here is the info anyway

The newly renovated Sheraton Cerritos Hotel has introduced PURE Allergy Friendly Rooms. The hotel’s PURE Rooms remove up to 98% of bacteria and viruses. These comfortable accommodations are enjoyed by all guests, but bring an extra level of relief to asthma and allergy sufferers.

All 203 newly renovated guestrooms feature warm décor with flat screen televisions and Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds. The hotel offers 10 PURE Rooms available now for travel to Southern California.

PURE creates a safe environment for sensitive travelers through its patented conversion process. In each PURE Room, all the surfaces have been sanitized and specially treated. Mattresses and pillows are encased to protect against dust mite related allergen triggers. Also, a medical grade air purifier filters the air and kills bacteria, viruses and other irritants.

To maintain these conditions in the room, a state-of-the-art air purification system is installed, creating air quality that averages four times cleaner than the threshold necessary for asthma patients. This system is listed by the FDA as a Class II medical device.

For more information on PURE rooms, visit www.pureroom.com.

I checked for you and the Hyatt Regency OC on Harbor does have PURE rooms available hth:goodvibes

Check out the Hyatt Orange County. It is a beautiful, newly remodeled hotel. I wouldn't walk to the parks from there but they have a reliable shuttle than runs every half hour from open to close. I have always found the whole place to be extremely clean.

Their "Respire" rooms are special rooms for allergy sufferers - check it out:

Yes! I never saw this. This is the one I suggested also as the Cerritos one is way to far away!! Thanks for mentioning it first!!

Check out the Anabella Hotel as well I believe they have some rooms that don't have carpet.

Anabella doesn't have carpet in many rooms, and we were told that they are changing to ALL wood floors. And they are a lovely motel.

Another vote for Anabella AND no curtains, they have shutters!

Just put in the request for hardwood and remind them on check-in.

LOVE that hotel and added bonus, walk to the parks through the Grand...it is a few blocks past PPH.

We liked the Anabella. Interesting rooms and nice layout. It isn't exactly close. I would estimate it took us 20 mins to walk (up Disneyland Dr, cut through the Grand, out to DTD and then into DL.)

Thank you, Anabella is looking quite interesting, but seems a bit far.

I can´t find in their website information about whether they have or not transportation to the parks.

We have 3 girls, 9, 3 and 1, so probably we would want to go back to the hotel at midday and the walk is looking a bit heavy to do it twice a day.

We are considering Paradise Pier, any opinions?

If we could rent a toddler bed someplace, I wouldn´t mind bringing sheets, etc, for the bed since they would be small, so this might be an option if we get one of the hotels that have no carpet.

It's really not that far! You will have stroller, yes??! I think it takes more energy to wait for the ART, break down the stroller, jump on the bus, etc. and really it's not like the ART drops off at the door, you still have to walk up to security, then to the gate and the lines on that side of security are always longer.

I always feel like once I am in the Grand I am THERE! I would rather do the DTD walk any day compared to the Harbor walk.

We always go back mid day and nap...it's a great hotel. For what you need, it will be perfect!

I thought it was fine but it didn't seem cleaner than any other hotels. If I recall correctly it has comforters and I know it has carpet and even a couch, as well as a couple beach ball pillows that looked a little grimy. I don't think they do special allergy treatments, either.
