Please Help! I am scared to go on rollercoasters

I've never been on CS, but I have one teenage son that wants to go. The problem is he wants someone to go with him and nobody in the family has been willing yet. Here is my problem... I'm not afraid of the ride. I'm afraid of motion sickness. I've gotten sick on space mountain before. Is it better or worse than space for motion sickness? I just might take some bonine and go on it once, but I want to be prepared.
So much better/easier than Space Mtn! I think the biggest difference is that you can actually see where you are going, so there's no wondering or that feeling of being tossed about. Much less motion sickness on CS just because I can know where we are going. Bonine is all I need for CS.

I probably went to the parks 20 times and skipped the ride because I was afraid of it. No way am I going on sky school ever again. That ride is petrifying. I was scared to death but I finally did cs. It was actually awesome. The upside down is nothing and you feel confident in the restraint system by the time you get to it. I can't handle splash either. I think I finally figured out that I like the shoulder bar on cs. You really will be fine on it and you will probably enjoy it because you will have conquered the fear. But skip it if you want. Your family is being unfair to pressure you about it.

The most intense part of Screamin' is the launch/take off. The upside down loop is nothing. Just look at the track straight ahead and you won't even notice you are upside down. I think I was more nervous on Manta than Screamin'.

Don't try it if you don't want to though.

I was terrified of Tower of Terror for years because I hate drop rides and hate that drop feeling (even on roller coasters), but finally went on it and loved it.

The loop is no big deal. But as it's aged the ride isn't as smooth as it once was. Either it's me getting old or the ride getting old but I usually ride it once a trip. I used to ride multiple times per trip.

On our first trip to Disneyland, I chickened out and skipped riding Tower of Terror. I just could not muster up the courage. After I got home I was so mad at myself. Thousands of people ride everyday and live to tell the tale. I was in no danger. The next time we went I went straight to DCA. I was so nervous I asked every cm if I could sit by the wall in order to have two handholds. I am sure they thought I was crazy. Long story short....I loved it! On the other hand, my husband hated it and will never ride it again:crazy2:. I say try it....you may love it:thumbsup2
