PLEASE HELP! Forbidden Journey size freakout

If you find the old thread on this topic, make sure to read the most recent posts first. They changed the seats sometime around September. I had the same fears you have now, but it all turned out great. I fit with no problem when I was there in December. Just be sure to ask the tm for one of the larger seats.

Hi,I visited WWOHP back in Oct 2010 after the modified seats were in action and i have similar measurements to you ie hips 52 inches and chest 50 inches. I got a yellow light on the test seat outside so asked the helper if i could go in the modified seats and she was really lovely and led our whole party down the modified seat line which definately was to our advantage,as it had no waiting time!.I went in the end seat and managed to get three clicks without any help.I had worried about not getting on for so long that it was begining to ruin the trip for me and i needn't had worried at all. A good tip is to push your rear into the seat as far as possible before pulling the harness down. Please try not to worry as I'm sure you will be fine. I do however agree with everyone that the ride is only a small part of having a great time at WWOHP.

I don't think you should have a problem. My measurements are only about an inch or two smaller than yours and I nearly was able to get into a regular seat. If I hadn't had my camera in my pocket I would have been able to. I didn't have any problems in the chest area. My friend who is larger than me in the hip area was able to ride as well. Definitely clear anything out of your pockets that may get in the way of the bar. I actually had more problems on the Hulk ride.

I'm actually glad I didn't read this thread before I left or else I would have been worried (I'm about an size 18, but carry my weight in my hips). I didn't have any problems.

Have fun!

All will work out.
No reason to freak out.
It sounds like you just an average bear :)
Enjoy your trip

Well, my DH and I had high hopes that we would fit in the modified seats. But, no go!

We tried the test seats just before you board and ride attendant could not get the yellow on either of us. I am 5'6" and a size 26 in bottoms, 24 in top. My husband is 5'8" with about a 52 waist.

So, while I was very upset last summer when we first found out about the problems larger folks were having with the seats, I wasn't very upset when we actually were there. Being prepared helped calm me down.

We did enjoy the Hogwarts castle tour very much. And we're planning a trip in May 2012. And I am DETERMINED to fit in the seats for our next trip!

Thank you all for your words of wisdom!
I am sure I will love the experience of WWOHP I just am a ride junkie, so I know it will be a huge disappointment to not get on. I'm happier being prepared for the blow than getting cold water thrown in my face there though, so thanks for your input.

For now, I am thinking I'll be a go, after reading reports here and hours of internet research, and finding the seat measurments and comparing it to a bunch of chairs in my house. But I guess I'll know for sure on Friday!

And if I don't fit I will be consoling myself by buying the $100 houserobe I promised myself I would not buy. ;)

And of course, as pissed as I will be it will make pulling into Disney the next day all the better, because I'll be returning to my happy place where I fit every ride!

You are probably already there and have gotten to ride but just in case...you should be ok. Try the test seats first to ease your worries and try to get and outside seat on the ride they fell slightly larger to me. Have a great time!!
