Please help family decide! ASMu or AoA April 2014

Help us decide please! Son wants ASMU and daughter wants a Mermaid room. Nervous about spring crowds and touring groups! Planning on first week of April which is not officially Spring Break.

I would say AoA because the theming is fantastic. You might have a little convincing to do with your son because the only non-suites available at AoA are LM, but that won't prevent you from walking all over the resort and saying the Cars section or the Finding Nemo or Lion King ones.

ASMU would be a little cheaper.

If it is between those 2, why not throw both names into a hat and pick one? Or another poster said that they throw the names of the resorts they are deciding between and let their dog choose by stepping on one. Of course that only works if you have a dog.

As a mom, that would be hard to pick bc whichever one you choose it was one of the kids choices, does that make sense? I know, with the ages of my girls right now, that could cause a lot of drama and/or hurt feelings. Is wasn't an option, but if it were me, I would try to find compromise with Pop or Movies - that way you don't have to chooses sides (I am pushover though, lol).

I agree. I would do pop or movies. Those are actually my two favorite value resorts anyway.

If you really had to choose, id go with AoA.

Thank you for your replies! And, yes it puts me in an awkward position because I feel like I'm showing favoritism towards one if I choose the resort of their choice. I like the ideas of picking hotels out of a hat or going somewhere else altogether. Thanks!

Also just an FYI April is still Spring break for a lot of the country. All of March and the first 3 weeks of April are Spring break weeks in the US. Expect very big crowds the first week of April. Especially with Easter being later in 2014 then it was in 2013. Easter in 2013 was in March so most Spring breaks were done by the 2nd week of April. This coming Easter is not until April 20th so you will have spring break crowds all the way through the whole month of April 2014. Just wanted you to know what to expect. I have been the 2nd week of April 2 years in a row.

If you're nervous about touring groups, book AoA. I can't imagine Disney is going to fill their newest hotel with tour groups when plenty of fans are willing to pay to fill the hotel separately.
