Please Help!! - Expired FL DL

Without a FL ID he can use the items on the lower part of this list:

Florida Resident Tickets:
Proof of a Florida residential address is required. For each adult ticket purchased, you may provide any of the following:

•Valid Florida driver's license
•Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
•Valid Florida-based military ID
The persons who will use the Florida Resident adult tickets must be present at the time of ticket pick up. If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each adult ticket purchased you must provide one of the following dated within the last two months and evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):

•Monthly mortgage statement
•Florida vehicle registration or title
•Homeowner's insurance policy or bill
•Automobile insurance policy or bill
•Utility bill
•Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings, or investment account statement
•Mail from a Federal, State, County or City government agency
Bills can be no more than two (2) months old. PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency. Current bills printed from electronic versions are acceptable, though photocopies and fax copies are not.

He might have to go somewhere to print it off and not that the dates have to be within the past two months. Looking at this it appears though he does need that ID. Good luck

ok,

I went to eat supper and get my little ones in bed and things have gotten a little dicey in here...

Ok to clarify.....

He is not currently driving.... his wife is.

He is 34 years old and this is the FIRST time this has happened to him. Due to a move, his license does not expire on his birthday. So...it really did slip up on him.

I didn't clarify all of these statements, becuase I really didn't think this was going to turn into a moral trial.

Thank you to all of those who saw this for what it was.. an oversight.

Disney did let them in with his teaching ID, car insurance and registration and his wife's valid ID.

Thank you to all of you who were helpful. I am sure he will rectify this as soon as possible.

:thumbsup2

I am very glad he was able to get in with his other forms of ID.. :thumbsup2 but all my years of living in FL (going on 21), I have never known your expiration date to change due to a move.. it always remained on your birthday :confused3 Your address may change, but your birthdate doesn't :confused3 that one blows my mind. I have honestly never heard that one before.

Either way, he got in. I am glad to hear he wasn't driving. You hadn't made that clear. ... and I sure hope he gets that straightened out when he gets home. Nothing worse than having to explain to an officer (who may or may not be a happy camper at the time) why you are driving with an expired DL.... well you see officer, I was planning my Disney Trip :rotfl: don't think it will fly well with FHP ;)

I do hope they have an enjoyable trip in this horrible weather.... :thumbsup2 and a safe trip home

an expired DL isnt a big deal if you get pulled over, the cop will give you a warning and tell you to take care of it.. its only a big deal if you have a suspended one

Agreed. Especially if it is only a week. There is usally a grace period. A year past expiration might be another story!;)

Its this post and the others that were made by this same person that blow my mind why the MOD's let remain and why i dont post much here . They have posted absolutely NOTHING constructive . Only inflamed the thread .

I second that, It is also why i havent come on here as often as I used too.
Ohhh and just for the record there is a grace period, not officially but if he was pulled over seeing as it was just a week they wouldn't have done anything but told him it was expired and he needed to renew.
Also i have had experience with expired id/dL. I flew to Disney, didnt rellize that my id expired 9 months ago. (thought i had another year so I wasnt checking it). they still let me fly, and he was very understanding.

By the way, why arent the MOD's doing anything about people like that? I just found his tone and what he was saying to be down right rude.

My DH's license was up for renewal this year and he didn't receive a notice or anything. Maybe they aren't sending them out anymore?

I always wonder if some of these nasty attitudes Dis'ers talk to people like that in real life? What we think and what we say are usually two different things, but I think on message boards, some people think they can just throw out the filter. It's hurtful and rude. It's one thing to be honest when someone asks for your opinion, but suggesting someone is lying or just being plain nasty is just.....well, nasty. It's gotten to the point that I don't questions as often, because it never fails that someone will turn the thread into something negative. And it's the same people over and over.

too busy?!?! they give you your renewal notice months in advance?! My son's will expire in Sept. We got his renewal notice the beginning of June! Sorry, but something doesn't sound right. You mean to tell me he has been busy that long to the point of letting it expire. I hope he knows he now will have to pay extra to renew it.
To answer your question, I do believe it must be a current DL, not expired. Expired can mean that the person is no longer in the State.

I've had really important things slip my mind when life got hectic/complicated. I was driving around with expired plates AND a lapsed driver's license :scared1: Luckily the cop was a rational human being and told me to just go get it taken care of.
