I HAVE A DECISION TO MAKE AND I NEED SOME HELP, PLEASE!!!!WE WANT TO TRY CHEF MICKEY'S FOR A CHARACTER BRKFST, HOWEVER, THE ONLY TIME WE COULD GET IS SUN, JUNE 14 @ 10:35 AM....THIS IS THE ONLY DAY WE CAN GO TO HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS EARLY FOR THE STAR WARS WEEKEND...MY BOYS ARE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT STAR WARS AND ACCORDING TO PAST REVIEWS, EVERYONE SUGGESTS THAT WE ARRIVE TO THE PARK EARLY TO GET FAST PASSES FOR AUTOGRAPHS,ETC...THE PERFECT SOLUTION WOULD BE TO GET AN EARLIER RES @ CHEF MICKEY'S, OR A DIFFERENT DAY...BUT, IN CASE THAT DOES HAPPEN BEFORE WE LEAVE, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE EXPERIENCED DISNEY-ITES SUGGEST....SHOULD I JUST SKIP BRKFST AND TRY TO GET ANOTHER CHARACTER BRKFST ANOTHER DAY??(I HAVE THREE OTHER DAYS WITH OPEN PLANS FOR BRKFST....I ALREADY HAVE A SAFARI AND CRYSTAL PALACE AND OHANA'S BRKFST RESERVED....IS CHEF MICKEY'S REALLY WORTH GETTING TO THE PARK AFTER LUNCH??PLEASE ADVISE....ALL OPINIONS AND SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOMED!!!!THANKS SO MUCH!!!!:cool1:

I was not impressed with Chef Mickey's for dinner. The character interaction seemed rushed and the food was so-so. If your children are excited about Star Wars that would totally win out in my mind. It's not like you don't have other character dining options and it seems like you can squeeze some more things in. Enjoy it!

My family tried Chef Mickey's for breakfast in August 2008, the food was only okay and the characters were very rushed, signed an autograph for each a quick photo and they moved on. The was no play at all. Very disappointing for me and them. Enjoy Star Wars at DHS instead.

I have not been to Chef Mickey's, but Mickey is at the Safari Breakfast and Ohana breakfast...if your children love Star Wars go to that, you are already eating breakfast with Mickey on another day...you will probably be able to get Chef Mickey another day before your vacation anyhow (people do cancel)...

If the kids want Star Wars actor autographs you definitely have to get to DHS early - WAY early - so it might be better to reschedule the breakfast if they really want those.

Could you do dinner at Chef Mickey's instead? The SW parade should be around 11:00 or 11:30, there is no way you'l make tht with a 10:35 ADR.

First, please don't SHOUT in your posts (the caps!) - makes it hard to read!

Anyway, as a PP said - the celebrity autographs thing - people who want FPs for that line up at 4 AM, last I heard -- so if you really want that -- you know the answer.

For meeting the SWW characters (non celebrities), you really do need to get there at RD to avoid huge lines most of the day.

Also, if you want to ride Toy Story Mania, you really need to get there early and ride or get a FP. FPs will run out very early on SWW, I think - they did last year and do on other days all the time.

Lastly, I don't think any meal, characters or not, is worth missing something like SWW - I'm not a huge SWW fan, but it is a lot of fun for our family - Chef Mickey's is just so-so food (although the characters are fun) and available all the time, all year round - but I get that you can't get another ADR.

Pass on Chef Mickey's and enjoy SWW. :darth::yoda::chewy::ewok:

Even if you got the very first ADR on that day at CM, you could not get to DHS in time to get any autographs.

CM=Overrated

I woudl never choose 1 meal over Star wars weekend w/ boys.
There are plenty of other character meals and other times to do them.

U could do Tusker House at AK or Ohana bfast

Star Wars should be your choice!
Especially if you want to get there early for autographs. You probably want to be at HS at least 2 hours ahead of park opening.

We were at SWW last year and if you want a celebrity autograph you have to get there very early. We got there last year at 7:00 and the park opened at 9am. After standing in line for almost 3 hours, just to get a ticket for an autograph, they ran out of tickets before I got mine. My husband was in a different line and he was able to get a ticket for Peter Mayhew's (Chewie) autograph.
Even if you get there at rd as one other poster said, you still won't be able to avoid long lines anywhere. Character autographs have long waits all day long. When we were there last year, we did only Star Wars events - celeberity auto, merchandise, parade, character autographs and the Hyberspace Hoopla to end the SW events for the day. We did NOTHING HS at all - no rides, not even Jedi training. That is how long it all took. The only thing HS we did was see Fantasmic at the end of the day when the SW events were over. We ended up going back to HS on another day to do the HS things we missed. Having said all of that - a character meal on that day would be out if you are SW fans. Just wanted to put in perspective how long things took. I would do it on a different morning and devote that day to SW. It was so much fun!!! We wish we were going again this year to be there during SWW!

I have to agree with everyone STAR WARS!!!! I am jealous! We are never able to go during SWW! Have fun!!!!:yoda:

I'd GO TO DHS FOR SWW AND CANCEL CHEF MICKEY'S!

I would take my boys to SWW (we were there in March, they were very dissappointed SW was not there), try Tusker House for Breakfast, Mickey is there to see, that was my boys favorite character dining experience. We did CM for dinner, did not care for it. Say hello to Yoda for me
:)

No brainer -- skip Chef Mickey and spend the day at SWW. Your boys will love it so much better than getting a picture with Mickey, etc.. I love Chef Mickey's and plan on a meal every trip, but would not sacrifice precious time at SWW -- too much cool SW stuff to see/do there.

As an alternative, try having lunch at SciFi which is a cool place for kids, eating in a car and watching old movies!! My boys loved it. That way, you stay inside DHS park.

Skip Chef Mickeys and go enjoy Star Wars fun!

We are not Chef fans- have had 2 bad breakfasts in a row so it's off the list. For me it's no contest-definately skip breakfast.
