PLEASE HELP! April School Vacation In Disney?????

The 2007 April school vacation for us is the third week of April-the week of the 16th., with Easter being on the 8th.

Would going to Disney that week be

a. A GREAT TIME TO GO!

b. A NIGHTMARE WITH THE CROWDS!

c. ________________ (fill in the blank!)

I noticed that it is listed as Regular Season rather than Peak Season which ends on April 14 in 2007, if that makes any difference. ??

Any comments, advice and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

How about all of the above? We've gone the first week of April for the past 3 years and it was very crowded but we had a wonderful time! The parks stay open late and the weather is usually very nice that time of year. After our first April trip (which happened to be Easter week!) DH swore that he'd never go in the summer again. Of course he's eating his words because we are going Memorial Day week!

When is April school vacation in your area? We live in MA, and i found that the surrounding states such as CT, NH, and RI have different weeks.

We are planning on going during April school vacation 2008. I think no matter when we are to go due to school vacation constraints, it will always be busy.

c. Can do 2 weeks with kids only missing 3 days of school

d. Weather great - hardly any rain

e. Take advantage of early mornings and relax at the pool in the afternoon

f. Make an ADR for a nice sit down lunch and do a sandwhich place (Dolphin Fountain) for dinner

h. go with the flow - no rushing around with 2 weeks -take time to relax

i. Plan ahead and then enjoy WDW and the Florida sun


We went Memorail day week one year - make ADR's and you will be fine. Less crowded than Easter week.

I too am planning on going furing break in April. I think it is the last week in april. Good/Bad?

We won't ever go during April break again....ever.....

After this year going in Nov we will switch to Feb break.

We leave in 39 days !!

If you are going over spring break, I'll be there with my orchestra and a lot of other bands, orchestras and choruses from all over the country for a competition.

If this is either the week before or the week after Easter, then I believe it is the busiest time, second only to Christmas. Now, if you are willing to get up early, follow the Unofficial Guide type of touring plan, etc., this may still be great for you. Or, you might not mind crowds too much.

To me, it's better than the summer, but that's because I just can't stand the heat.

It's better than not going at all! If it's the best time for you, I'd say go for it.

after 10 trips in September, we went Easter week '06. I would not hesitate to go back again. This assumes you are able to get to the park before it opens. If you want to sleep in, then no I wouldn't go.

Schools seem to have spread out their Spring Break schedules. I don't think there is a week in April when someone doesn't have Spring Break. We have gone a couple of times and while it was crowded it is also doable. The trick is to go early and get all the Fast Passes you can. The weather is beautiful.

It would be for arrival on April 15, with Easter being on the 8th. Since it is listed as "Regular" season, rather than "Peak" season (which ends April 14 in 2007), I was hoping that crowds would have died down a bit? Or is that wishful thinking?!

What put a serious damper on our late April trip one year were the large groups of teens roaming the parks on their "end of year" outings. We actually left MK early one night because it was so unpleasant. Shenanigans on rides (think standing up rocking POTC boat), offensive language, shoving on the monorail (that group was a band from our home state of MA), make out/groping sessions in lines - were just some of the things we encountered. We would be hard pressed to go that time of year again, but that was just our experience. I'm sure there are others who like that time of year.

I have been looking for the listing of "special weeks" for 2007 at Disney (ex: Jersey Week, cheerleading competion week, etc) yet am unable to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks!
