Please, help: AP e-ticket confusion

Experienced AP holders, please help! Currently I have e-ticket Annual Pass (purchased through disney site). How can I use this e-ticket to exchange it for the actual AP? Can I do this outsite the park or I should do this only inside? (We plan to arrive on Saturday when the Deluxe AP has a blackout date and I can't enter the park. Is it possible to exchange it to actual pass on Saturday somehow in order not to waste time on Sunday on these procedures?).

Thank you! But I'am still a little confusing. Where do they take your photo for the AP or do I need to bring my own? (as I understood AP has individual photo on it)

1. When you purchase the pass On-Line and select the E-Ticket option you should immediately be able to print out your ticket to your printer. This will show the level of pass you purchased as well as any options(such as parking). You can then take that voucher directly to the Main Entrance and they should exchange it for a regular ticket(that will show what you purchased). You can then use that ticket for that day until you get your Pass processed. However, at this point that is just like a regular ticket. That is if you loose it you are out of luck, so it is best to get your AP processed as soon as you can. To process the pass you need to go to the Bank on Main Street. This is the first big building you see as you go through the tunnel on the right side. Expect anywhere from about 5-30 minutes to actually process your pass depending on when you go.

2. The blockout days for the AP do not apply on the first day of USE, the date of purchase does not matter. Unless something has changed very recently this is still the case so going on a Blockout day should be no issue at all.


Once your pass is processed you do not need to get a Handstamp when you want to exit and re-enter or Parkhop. So this can save you some time because you can just exit without having to wait. The one exception to this would be on an extremely crowded day they may require a Hand Stamp for everyone. If this is the case you will see signs posted and probably be told by Cast Members as you enter.

Yes, that sounds like what we did in January. Our first day in the park was a Saturday and they let us in as described above.

In theory you could use the ticket for getting a fast pass first then come back to the Opera House but it is better to do it immediately.

We purchased my DD12's AP on a blockout day and they gave her a reciept that said show this when re-entering one day blockout ticket. So they give you an exception on the day you upgrade

Does Opera House (Bank on Main Street) operates during all the park hours, or it closes earlier? We'll arrive to DL not earlier than 7 p.m. (park hours are till 12 a.m.)

It is open as long as the park is open. You will be fine getting in at 7 pm. Just remember that your passport photo will look a lot like you driver's license photo. Both of mine are me on my worst day.

I have a couple of questions.

Do you have to bring the printed ticket to the disneyland turnstiles first? We were planning to go to DCA first to eat lunch the day we arrive, then head over to disneyland to process our AP's.

Also, how busy is the annual pass center around 3 pm?

FWIW, they do sometimes need AP holders to get a stamp. The last day of the ladies trip in early March was a day they required it. I've never seen an unmanned exit turnstile that was open, so you'll be waiting behind people anyway...if they say you need a handstamp as an AP, get the handstamp.

OP, the first day being a blocked out day is OK. They are courteous in that way.

The picture is taken ONLY in Disneyland. DCA does not have the cameras to take the pictures, so all you will have is the ticket-sized AP voucher they will give you in exchange for the printout (you will exchange it right at the turnstile) until you go to the AP processing center.
