This question may sound silly, but for those of you that have stayed at AKL, is there a odor? I have some family that is a little concerned that there might be a "zoo-like" odor and I wanted to know from those of you who have experienced this resort what the real story is.

Thanks so much in advance for your input.

Never smelled anything offensive. (in 1 stay and 3 other visits to eat at Bomas -- most in hot weather)

There's often the aroma of the various spices used at the restaurants.

We had a two year old in diapers but other than that, I didn't smell anything offensive!

Yes there is. But not what you think. The smell of Boma is pervasive and it's a fantastic smell. I don't know if it's done purposly (I wouldn't be surprised) but it's almost intoxicating, IMO. But animal smells? No.

No animal smells but there have been recent thread on someone whose asthma was triggered quite hard by something at AKL (and it was not the animals)

thanks

Thank you to everyone that replied. If anyone else can help, please do. Thanks again!!! :teeth:

We got back from AKL in Feb. We had a savannah view and never had any animal odors. You will love it. It has become my favorite place to stay.

We have never smelled any animal odors, and spent a lot of time on our balcony, with the Ankole cattle just yards away!!

The smell in the lobby is a wonderful smell - Peter Pirate, intoxicating is a great word for it!!
