Please help a novice with car rental at MCO

E-Z Rent a Car is 125.00 a week for a full size. I have used them before they are pretty good. The line at MCO is usually short and you get a Nissan Altima. This is a pretty nice car. For $7 more you can get an SUV(Hyundai Santa Fe) for the week. I like them because I have been on a mission for the last few years to keep our credit card balances at 0$ and they allow you to use a debit card and only hold the amount of the rental.

That is good info! I had never heard of them. I will keep an eye out for deals.
One question. The website Terms say they hold the rental plus $200. Did you have to ask them to waive that in advance? We don't like to use credit cards either unless it is an emergency. Vacation is not considered an emergency. :rotfl:

Can I bring my child's carseat rather than rent a carseat?

If this helps -- if you have a AAA membership, their rates with Hertz includes one child seat or booster. So if you only need one seat and you don't want to bring your own, this option can be worth looking at.

The will not waive that hold. It will be the cost of the rental plus the 200.00 (or 30% of the estimated rental) if you use your card.

Some rental car companies will let you use a debit card with proof of round trip transportation. IE: round trip flight without an additional hold.

If you go with Alamo and join their "Insider's" Club you will give them your Driver's License and Credit Card info online. Once you get to the airport you just go to the Alamo cars in the on site parking lot and select your car from rows of cars in sections marked by rental type (size). You may pick any car from your rental type or smaller that fits your needs best. For instance, my DD *loves* HHRs and I picked one in the Compact aisle even though I paid for an Intermediate. IIRC the rental company will put a "hold" on your credit card while you have the car. You will be charged for it and receive a receipt when you return the car.

Alamo no longer lets you go straight to the garage as an Insiders member (they no longer store your DL and CC info as part of your Insiders account).

You either need to complete Online Checkin, Kiosk Checkin, or stop at the counter prior to going to the garage.

They still store you DL info. And, this has been in place for quite some time.
You will still have to show your DL when you exit the garage......everyone does, unless the agent is not doing their job correctly. If you check in online or at the kiosk, you will also have to show your credit card (the one you used for that reservation). Debit cards are accepted with proof of round trip transportation.
