I am so excited to be taking my girls to Paris this Thanksgiving. We will only have four full days in Paris and I want to spend one of them in DLP. We have been to WDW many times but I am feeling overwhelmed about planning our day in DLP. I was hoping someone could suggest a fun character meal or fun restaurant for lunch and dinner. For people familiar with WDW, my kids love Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi, Princess breakfast, and Crystal Palace. Is there anything comparable to those places and if so, how do I make reservations?

Thanks for any assistance that you can give me!

Hello Caryn,

Restaurants which come recommended for character meals for lunch and dinner are The Lucky Nugget (lunch) and Inventions (dinner). Inventions is the restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel. I haven't actually eaten at either of these restaurants but have mostly heard only good things about them.

You have picked a good time to go to DLRP as it is very quiet crowd wise at end of November but the Christmas season will be in full swing. Bring warm clothes as it could be very chilly.

Feel free to ask any more questions,
Joanne

My favorite DLP character meal is dinner at Inventions. It's a buffet at the Disneyland Hotel (literally right above the park entrance). The food is very good. I'd recommend not having too much for lunch if you're going to Inventions for dinner. It's not a good place to go if you're already full.

Even though it's not a character meal, I think you'd like Auberge de Cendrillon. It's my favorite restaurant in the park, for lunch or dinner. It's a Cinderella-themed restaurant in Fantasyland. The setting is delightful, and the food is also very good. Don't miss the chocolate slipper dessert! The best dessert I've had at any Disney themepark.

My recommendation if you have one day in DLP: small, early lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon (a bite to hold you over until dinner, and to experience the setting), and then a character dinner at Inventions. Depending on when the park closes, you can even consider having dinner before or afterwards.

Enjoy your trip! ::MinnieMo

There's also Cafe Mickey in Disney village which has character meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Have a look at: http://www.dlpfoodguide.com
Please ask as many questions as you like - someone will be able to answer them and we all love to talk about DLP!!

Hi Caryn, and welcome to the DLP boards.
Character interaction at Lucky Nugget saloon comes highly recommended.
At Plazza gardens breakfast and a tea with cakes etc is another offering.
Innventions is a buffet that is a bit more fine dining with both food selection; cold starters include various fish in marinades, main courses of swordfish, meat carvery, and the location of the Disneyland Hotel which overlooks the part.

Thank you so much for the suggstions! I have ordered a book for DLP but I am so used to the need for planning 90 days in advance for WDW restaurants that I was worried I would not be able to get anything for DLP. It seems like it is not as difficult to secure reservations here.

I think that we will definitely try Innoventions for dinner. Characters AND a good meal, what a novel idea! You have to love the French. ;)

Hi and welcome Caryn :goodvibes

If you only have 1 day at DLP then I'd definitely recommend having your character meal in the evening, the park will shut at 8pm at that time of year I think and if your DDs can wait that long then I'd suggest eating after the park is closed as there will be lots of Christmas things to see and do as well as all the rides. There are loads of places to grab a quick snack at lunchtime so you can make the most of your time in the park.

Nothing to add to the suggestions I'm afraid, but I just had to mention that your second tag made me giggle!! :)
