I'm planning a trip to LA but clueless about the transportation.

We are a party of six, with huge luggages. We'll be flying from Indonesia, arriving at LAX on mid November. We'll be staying at the Universal city area (Burbank, I believe?) for about 4 days and visit DL and USH.

Renting a car will NOT be an option since we're nervous about driving on the opposite side of the ride (we Indonesians drive on the left lane). Plus, we're not too good at reading maps or following GPS (can you tell we're girls?) ;)

1. What is the most convenient and efficient transportation from LAX to our hotel? How much will it cost?

I'd like to take Disney Express, but they only serve Anaheim area hotels, don't they...

2. What is the most convenient and efficient transportation from our hotel to Disneyland anaheim? How much will it cost?

I'm organizing the trip's budgeting right now but still stuck on the transportation part.

Any suggestions, comments, infos or links will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Here's a list of taxi companies that run out of LAX. You might want to either google them and get an email contact, or call ahead to find out if they have a van that holds six.
Authorized Taxicab Supervision (ATS) 9468 Alverstone Avenue (323) 776-5324
Bell Cab Company 13030 Cerise Ave (310) 219-3100
Beverly Hills Cab Company 6102 Venice Blvd. (310) 273-6611
Checker Cab 11003 South Hawthorne Blvd (213) 482-3456
City Cab 7955 San Fernando Road (818) 780-1000
Independent Taxi 700 N. Virgil (213) 666-0040
United Cab 900 N. Alvarado St (323) 653-5050
Yellow Cab 2129 W. Rosecrans (310) 851-5022

You could also try a limousine service.

Your best bet is probably to contact your hotel and ask them for suggestions.

For the trip to DL, many So Cal hotels have tour buses that stop nearby that go to DL. That's another thing about which to contact your hotel.

Good luck with your trip. I know you will love DL.

Supershuttle.com or PrimeTimeShuttle.com

Burbank is not the greatest area to stay without a car. Find out where in Burbank you are staying if you want public transpo information to Disney etc

Hi everyone.

So. There are some changes since the last time I posted. I'll be staying in Anaheim (about 0.5 miles from Disney) instead of Universal City area. We'll still be visiting both Disney and Universal Studios, though.

Here's my overall transportation plan. Initially, I want to prioritize practically, but then I decided to tighten the budget. Any inputs/comments will be appreciated!

1. From LAX to Anaheim hotel (round trip): SuperShuttle Shared Ride Van. I will make reservation online.

2. From hotel to Disney parks: hotel shuttle. They offer shuttle service every 15 minutes or so, all day. Yay.

3. From hotel to Universal City: catch a cab or ART to Anaheim station, and ride the Metrolink to LA Union Station. From there, ride the Metro red line to Universal City. Then walk or ride the complimentary shuttle to the park gates... I think...

I haven't figured out the route back to Anaheim though... is it just going in exact reverse?

So there you go. How does it sounds?

Less then two weeks until my 24 hours flight!!! :faint:

You got it!

Metrolink to Red Line - get of at the Universal Station and catch the
shuttle to the top of the hill.

At the end of your Universal visit take the shuttle to the bottom of
the hill and take the Red Line to Union Station where you can catch
the Metrolink to Anaheim and then a cab back to your hotel.

Great! Thanks StageTek! Someone else on the board suggested using the transfers service from Gray Line, though, so it'd be less of a hassle. But for now, Metrolink system sounds good. Again, thanks!

Oh, almost forgot. How about taxi van? For my party, is it cheaper to go with taxi's flat rate to and from the airport (compared to supershuttle)? How much is the rate, usually (from LAX-anaheim)? Thanks!

yeah, but very pricey though :(

Not really.

The ticket to Universal is $67.00 which means the cost for transportation
on Grey Line is only $13. I don't think you'll get a Taxi van for that. Even
the Metro option is more than $13.

Ooooh, I was looking at the "Transportation Only" option. And the bus transport only to Universal costs $30 per person. I'm gonna check it again. Thanks!
