I am wracking my brain and it hurts. Any ideas? He is a volunteer fireman, into music (listening), and likes to watch tv. Already bought him an MP3 player, small home theatre system, GPS, small weather indicator. He already has a scanner for listening to weather & firehouse activity. I was going to look into a new digital camera, but he wants a 5 megapixel and that is out of my price range. I was thinking something electronic, but can't find anything new and improved. He doesn't go anywhere that would warrant a travel dvd player...we already have PS2 and color gameboy (which he doesn't play much)....Please help....

What about a gift card for music from a web-site - You said that he has an MP3 player (very cool) - He probably needs music for it - So either CD's or a gift card from like Napster or iTunes so he can download the music he wants - Or Does his MP3 player need an upgrade? Would he like an iPod?

How about an attachment that he can play his MP3 player in his car? I have one that goes through my cigarette lighter - it charges it as well as plays through the cars speakers - It's great!

Or - XM or Sirius radio system (satellite radio) - you can get them for your car or your house -

concert tickets?

Some great movies for his home theater system - Men seem to like the ones where it really shows off the theater surround sound (like top gun, or any other action adventure movie)

That's all I can think of for now - I hope that helps! Good Luck!

Not very original but how about an all about him weekend~ his favorite beverage waiting friday with comfy slippers and his favorite TV or sports on and dinner. Saturday take him to see Ladder 49 at the movies ~ good movie w/John Travolta & Joaquin Phoenix you'll like it too. Dinner at favorite restaurant. Sunday sleep in breakfast in bed etc... My DH is a SAHD so a couple of times a year I send him to our local Marriot or Sheraton for a saturday night alone ~ to sleep with out hearing our 3 DS's (all under 4) have a nice steak dinner (hot), hot tub and relax, watch a movie and sleep as late as he can on sunday have brunch and then come home all grateful that he has us and knows how much I appreciate all he does.:lovestruc

ok -
we are NOT really 'puzzle' people -
we went to a bed a breakfast and we thought it was odd that the main form of entertainment there was these puzzles made in Vermont-
until we sat down and tried them!

they come in an unmarked box (other then the 'name of the the puzzle - meaning NO PICTURE to go by!)

They are custom cut out of a wood (no bending pieces and they can cut things you want into the pieces of the the more expensive ones)

when put together you can pick them up by one corner and they stay together

if you look on the site you will see 'countdown deals' I got my dh one for 40% off for x-mas this year

they are awesome!
100% guaranteed

I bought DH 2 tickets to the Dallas Cowboys/Detroit Lions game for his birthday. Along with the parking permit and a couple of rookie trading cards for his favorite player. I "scrapbooked" a card and put it all in there. We are going next weekend.

This is what I am thinking of getting him for our anniversary, I emailed them and the keyring is engravable. They have some very pretty, but simple jewelry. My DH is not much of a jewelry wearer, so that's why I chose the keyring:

I also found this website while on a search for a gift. It lists tons of ideas and catalogs, etc with some very unique things.

Good Luck!

Do you have Satellite TV? How 'bout a subscription/gift certificate for Net Flix?

Or, a watch with lots of functions. I got a very reasonable one for my DB that even has the temperature.

Another thought. My DB is a real electronic gadget guy and I'm trying to think of his favorite toys. How 'bout a ____ (3 to 5) -hundred disc changer where you program the discs in by category (holiday, rock, kids, ...). My DB loves his.

Good luck! DHs can be SOOO difficult!

How about a metal detector. Ya know it's a man thing.

I have been contemplating all these great ideas, since I have to think about both DH's birthday and Xmas. I looked into many of the above items, and was then approached by DH with something he actually wanted! He wanted some Code 3 firetrucks to add to his collection (this was great, because I think part of the $ is donated to FDNY, since I purchased from FDNY). I am also thinking of a couple dvds and a PS2 game. I had another electronics idea (which I don't want to give away in case DH is reading this thread). My only concern about some of the ideas that seem excellent for him- Tivo, Satellite Radio/TV, etc, is the ongoing monthly fee. I'm not sure how I would handle this, other than maybe giving the item and a few months paid membership. I will split these gifts between the two holidays. I'll also check out the sales right after Thanksgiving. Maybe there'll be a great deal on something I thought was too expensive.....:wave2:
