Please explain why this was a good idea

At work they changed all the toilets over to automatic flush. So now, when you choose your stall you get one of two things. Either a toilet that flushes if you even blink or one that makes you dance like some demented toilet sprite to get it to flush. None of us can find a button or anything to flush these things when we want them to. What a waste of money!!

I hate automatic flush toilets. I always have to hold my hand over the sensor when DD6 goes to the bathroom because it always flushes when she's seated and it freaks her out.

We have these at work too, but there is a small black button right under the sensor. I usually have to push it. Sometimes when I am at a non-automatiac toilet I kind of expect it to flush on it's own. I am going to get myself in trouble someday...

At least this isn't the same place that just took away the hand soap in the bathroom. (is it?)

Monkeyboy is trying to be sarcastic, but I would tend to guess this is pretty common because people 'don't want to touch the flush lever' or were raised using an out-house and never really figured the whole process out.

No thank God it's not. One potty problem is enough!!!

They replaced all of the toilets in our school with automatic flushers.

Well, then they realized that took more water and they implemented the "push to flush" campaign.

So, now, instead of having a nice and comfortable handle to flush with, you have to push this tiny button.

Sometimes progress makes us move backwards!

Those toilets scare the bajeebees out of me!!! I have an inane fear they are going to flush while I am still hovering

(Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who also has a phobia about swimming above the big drain in the deep end of a swimming pool)

What about the automatic faucets? Do they scare you too? There's one at the local mall in the upstairs womens' room that goes on all by itself all the time. Just..like..randomly you'll be three or four sinks down and whissshy! It comes on for no reason.
