Please explain this item on Boardwalk Bakery Menu...

This is from allearsnet menu for Boardwalk Bakery:

Souvenir Mug (free refills) with soda, coffee or tea $9.99
(Other mugs refills $.89)

So if I buy my mug from the Beach Club, can I use it other places for a small (like $.89) fee? Any other areas around WDW? Should we carry our mugs with us everywhere to get cheaper refills all over? TIA!

This mug is good for refills at the Boardwalk Bakery only - not everywhere else. It doesn't do any good to carry these mugs around.

It is just like the resort mugs (good for refills at the resort where you bought it) or the refillable cups at the water parks (good for refills at that water park).

Boardwalk Bakery is the exception to the general rule. They'll refill current Boardwalk mugs for free.

They'll also refill old Boardwalk mugs, mugs from other resorts and I think even non-Disney mugs for a reduced price, $.89. The service is not self-service, you have to give you mug to an employee to fill behind the counter.

I don't know of any other place in Disney that will refill other mugs for a reduced price. You either pay for a cup of soda or you "steal" the soda by using an incorrect mug.
