Each resort and water park offers a unique mug at one price that you can refill off the beverage stations unlimited times over the course of your stay.
There have been endless threads about using the mugs at other resorts; buying new each trip .vs. bringing "old" ones along to use, etc.
We've been WDW'ing for 10 years and bring along the first mugs we ever purchased, in fact, my DH is adamant about saving $$ by not buying new each time, and darn if he hasn't saved us bookoo bucks by doing that. (I would probably buy new....)
At no time has anyone stopped us from using the mug at the resort.
Be prepared to shell out for them--they "ain't cheap".
I beleive the mugs are $11.99 and include free refills of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fountain drinks (this may include lemonade - can't remember). They are like the travel mugs people use for coffee/hot drinks. Last time DH and I each got one and it was well worth the initial cost. I think the drinks that are included with the purchase of the mug are approximately $1.90, so if you drink enough of those types of drinks, it will pay for itself in the long run.
There are signs posted now ( I think) that the mug is only to be used at the resort where it was purchased from for the length of that stay. Some people do their own thing - I'm not getting in the middle of that debate!!!
edited to add - check out this link regarding the Poly's mug program. I'm not sure if the cappuccino/espresso etc are included in this or not. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_chh.htm
Unless you are staying in concierge, the refillable mugs are a great thing to have. Free refills for the duration of your trip,, cant' beat it. If you are staying in concierge, you have free drinks all day anyway, so they aren't as important.
