We are planning on doing an Escape Wedding in October. I have seen MANY people use other photographers for their escape wedding rather than using Disney themselves. I've read the Passporter's Wedding Guide and I still don't know what to do or make of it all.

Are there benefits to this since the Escape package comes with basic photography services?

I don't care about the proofs or the albums, but would like to have them all on a CD that I can print from. Is it really only $300 to get that? Or is that on top of something else? I would like to have 2 photographers, so I know that there would be an extra charge for that.

I'm gonna guess they don't do the 'getting ready' photos either. Do they do a bridal session with the couple after the ceremony?

I'm so full of questions before I can even get penciled in!

For some people, the benefits are being able to guarantee you get the photographer you want, being able to choose a photographer with a particular style that might not be represented in Disney's portfolio, and the ability to get digital images and print products at lower prices.

Yes, you just have to give up all the printed products and the proof disc and proof booklet.

There may be time left in your package for some shots nearby, but I wouldn't call it a portrait session. You can pay $200/hour for additional photography.

Hope this helps!

If you want extras with Disney its normally cheaper just to book an outside photographer to start with.

Thanks for all the responses. I clearly need to do more research in this.

I saw in the weddings pass porter that you can swap your ceremony photography session for another photography setting, like a resort photo session. Is this true? I love how Disney captures some things better than other photographers.

Thanks for asking this :goodvibes - I'm also planning an escape wedding and have been wondering about the photography! Every time I try to buy the Wedding Passporter e-book I get an error message :(

Sorry for jumping in on your thread but maybe you know - with an Escape package, what happens if you go with an outside photographer? Do they send a Disney one regardless?

Good luck with the rest of the planning!

No if you have an outside photographer you will not have a Disney photographer at the wedding as well. You can get a resort photo session or dessert party photography.

The only choices for the Escape swap are dessert party photography or a resort portrait session. :thumbsup2
