Inspired by the comeback rate thread - what exactly is it? You book a room for your next trip during your current trip? Lots of details would be appreciated. Thanks guys. :D

Yes, you book a room (or package or with flight/etc) for your next trip while staying AT an onsite resort.

I found the rate for the come back program to be slightly CHEAPER than the AP rate (value season). I had the AP rate for the room during that stay and the come back reservation I made was only about $5 more per night for the same resort/length of stay and this time it was a preferred building. So even comparing to the AP rate it should have been $10 more per night- but it wasn't. Therefore it's cheaper than the AP rate. :)

I believe this must be booked by 2/15 and the stay must be before the end of the year.

"Come Back" Offer
Recently Disney has been placing door hangers on the knobs of select guest room doors at Walt Disney World. The door hangers offer 40% off a future 2003 stay as long as the guest books BEFORE leaving the Disney property.

The offer is good for "room only" stays March 1 - December 31, 2003 that are booked through Central Reservations (CRO) FROM YOUR HOTEL ROOM by February 14, 2003. You must pay a deposit at time of booking. Offer does not apply to packages. Offer does NOT include campsites, suites and 3 bedroom villas. Minimum 3 night stay is required. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults (18 or older) per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. The number of rooms available at this discount is limited.

Apparently even if you don't get the door hanger, you can pick up your room phone and call (407) 939-7736, give code BAQ and get this discount. However, your current stay must be for 3 nights or more in order to qualify. I'm also told if you have an existing future reservation booked through CRO (not Walt Disney Travel Company), you can call while still on the property and have the rate adjusted on your future reservation, providing there is availability. (Hint: CRO reservations have a 12-digit confirmation code, while WDTC will have an 8-digit one).

And YES, Reservations can tell where you're calling from, so NO, you can't try booking this code from your home!

Thanks to Beth Foss of Pink Ribbon Cruises for info! Thanks to Kevin W and Wendy P for additional info.

Yeah,what she said. LOL

Except...
You must pay a deposit at time of booking.
Not true... atleast not in every case. I didn't have to. I had to put $200 deposit down within 14 days though. Remaining balance due within 45 days of arrival.

This sounds great. Wish I had known about this while we were at WDW. We returned 1/13 and certainly would of used the comeback code! Good luck to all that can get in on this!

I had put down one night's deposit (2 bedroom at BCV) and the balance is due upon check in. I guess because I did not do any kind of package, we have AP's so I did room only.

I read on another post that someone else who hadn't heard about it until they returned home, called and explained that they had just heard about it, and asked if they could take advantage of it. They let them! So definitely call and give it a try! ~:D~

Hi SuzyQue ...

sorry for the confusion ... I was able to book the come back rate while I was there. I actually changed resorts upon my return home. We originally rebooked the Polynesian, but have now switched to a 2 bedroom at BCV.

I was responding to Bibbidy's post that the balance was due 45 days prior to check in. When I asked about deposit and balance, I was told one night's deposit now and balance due at check in.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Muffy,

I think I was the person SuzyQ was writing about...we didn't hear about the promotion whaile we were down at the world either. We booked our summer trip right after getting back on 1/5 (I think we booked on 1/8 or 1/9). Anyway, when I heard about the code, I emailed Guest services and asked why they didn't offer us the discount while we were there, I explained that we had plans to return as evidenced by our reservations, and I said that I was quite perturbed at not having been offered the discount. Not hearing anything after a couple of weeks, I called CRO. They gave me a song and dance about this code only being offered to guests at moderate resorts. It was an obvious lie, but the guy was so nice about it that I simply dropped the matter and decided to wait on AP/code rates. To my surprise last Friday, I received a call from Guest Relations in response to my email saying that they would give me the code rate. Talk about a good feeling...:p If I were you, I would email and wait to see what happens. All that they can do is not give you the rate. Good luck.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice.
