i've just signed up with Sunshine Rewards, and i have NO idea how to do it! i'm terrified to put name & address in anything, and the 1-2 things i HAVE been brave enough to click on have left me w/ an inbox FULL of junk mail! someone please take pity on me and tell me how i make SR work for me w/o loading up my online and rl mailbox (is that even possible?). honestly, i just don't understand SR very well. HELP!

I sign up for the quick crediting offers using my other email box. That keeps the junk to a minimum in my normal box. I make the most with the shopping links.

I've been an SR member since June and have had pretty decent success ... come over to the SR forums and poke around. There are a ton of threads on tips when you're just starting out and everyone is really helpful. You'll be able to pick up a lot of information there! :)

This is what I did. I created a separate e-mail account that I only use for SR that way my regular e-mail doesn't get loaded with spam. I check it everyday because there are some important e-mails that come from SR and also some of the things you sign up for need confirmation.
I have earned most of my money so far from the daily surveys and shopping. I now check SR first for a link before I purchase anything online.
They also have a message board there full of great information.
I've only been doing SR since January and have already made $75 dollars.

I do mainly surveys and shopping through SR. The surveys do not require a physical address, and I do not get spam from the Greenfield surveys (worth 80 cents per day). SR does not send spam.

There are also OTX surveys on the site (in the offers section) for 75 cents per day. You do not need to put an e-mail address to do those - they are tracked by cookies.

I have done some paid offers of things I really wanted to try, like Blockbuster and the New York Times. I used my regular e-mail and did not get spam.

I used to do the free offers using a gmail e-mail address and a phone number from Private Phone. The phone number was a real, free number that went to voicemail, so I could check it when I wanted. That company is not offering free numbers anymore, although some other companies apparently are. I did put my real home address and got a few more pieces of junk mail, but not many. My gmail address was slammed with spam, though. I don't do the free offers anymore because I refuse to give out my home phone or cell phone to marketers - they will call you!

The e-mail address you use for offers does not have to be the same as your SR e-mail address.

I try to do all my shopping through SR to get the percentage back. I used to use Upromise, but I like seeing my Disney account add up. I don't do any more shopping than I used to, but I sometimes by from a different merchant because I know I can get money back into my SR account. SR has so many merchants that I use anyway - Land's End, Disney Shopping, Coldwater Creek, Gap, etc. Cindy can get most of the free shipping and discount codes that are on other sites.

I have $475 in Disney gift cards for our trip in 12 days, all from SR. It is a great site! Check out the forum at SR to get more tips to make money.

would anyone mind explaining what a "pending offer" is? i clicked a few i'd be interested in, but i don't understand what it means. are they going to ask me to sign up for something once it's not "pending" anymore? did i already sign up for something by making it a "pending offer"? LOL, wow, i really sound clueless, huh?

You actually don't click on the "pending" button until you have completed the offer. In order to complete the offer, you have to click on the link above it that says "Click here to paricipate and earn x.xx credits" That link will take you to the offer. Once you have completed that, then go back and click the pending button. That moves the offer to your pending folder (which you can find under the offers/contest option on the menu (left hand side of the screen.) That tells SR that you have completed an offer. When you receive credit for it, the offer then disappears from your available/pending offers. This helps you keep track of what you have done as well as helps SR prevent fraud (people doing offers more than once.)

SR is a great program and really easy to get the hang of. Sadly due to rampant fraud in the GPT/rewards world, the offers aren't as lucrative as they once were but you can still earn some great extra money for whatever in life you may need it for! The surveys alone can earn you over $45 a month for just a few minutes a day! Check out the forums over there as there are many people who are willing to help!

Good luck :)

lol, thank you! now i guess i should go back and actually do those offers!

Oh, I forgot to mention, if you did click the pending button and did not actually complete those offers - go into the pending offers category (like I mentioned before) and click the "remove from pending" button. It will put those offers back on your available offers list. Then click the link I described before to actually complete the offer.

Some other tips.

* Set up a free email account (I prefer gmail) to use for your offers.
* Click the most popular category under "offers/contest". that will show you the offers that the most members have recieved credit for (that you are eligible for.) This is great way to judge how "reliable" an offer really is!
* Check your email account that you used for your offers to see if their is a confirmation email that you have to click. Some offers will not credit unless you confirm your email
* Run anti-spyware/adware daily (I like 7 use AVG (grisoft.com) and ad-aware
* Don't be afraid to ask questions! Even us seasoned vets of SR were newbies at one time :)
* Have fun!

does anyone know how long it takes the greenfield surveys to credit? i spent about an hour doing one of those suckers today, lol. also...when you participate in one of the "offers" how do you choose which special offers within the offer to accept? the only one i was willing to click yes on was the disney parks vacation planning dvd. i really don't want a subscription to columbia house, smokers offers, etc. is there a way to do this (i don't see how when it says you HAVE to say yes to 4 offers to get your free gift card) without ending up subscribed to a bunch of junk? HELP! i've checked the SR forums but haven't found any answers relating to my questions.

If you took a Greenfield survey today, it should post tomorrow. The exception to that is that surveys taken Friday, Saturday and Sunday all post on Mondays. They are generally posted to your account by 12:30. HTH

thank you! now if i can just figure out how to participate in these "offers" without signing up for all the crap, lol.

You don't have to accept or sign up for the offers when you are doing the surveys. I always click no. If it says click yes to proceed, pick an offer that is a newsletter (betty Crocker, Overstock, etc.) or just click any and the click no thanks or skip when you get to that offer review page.

You will gets lots of spam email but that is why you are supposed to use a seperate email not your regular email ;)
