Please explain Pool hopping guidelines

We will be staying at OKW for the first time as guests of DVC owners. Can anyone explain how the pool hopping priviledges work? Do they give you wristbands? Can you go to any Disney resorts as well as DVC resorts? I believe I read that you cannot pool hop to BW and Stormalong Bay at bc/yc? Ny son would love a day of pool hopping, but I don't want to get my sponsoring family in any hot water. They are new owners and really don;t know much about it. I would appreciate anyone's feedback.

Unfortunately, pool hopping is only for DVC members (not their guests) who are staying at a Disney resort. In order to pool hop, you need to show your DVC member card, as well as your room key card. You are correct that pool hopping is not permitted at SAB or AKL.
