My kids have traded a few pins from the Disney Store with CM's the last few times we went to WDW, but nothing major--just not enough time. Now I want to buy a "grab bag" of pins (15-20) for my kids to use for trading ONLY with green lanyard CM's our next trip. They just like to find ones of characters they like or rides they have been on. No real "collecting", just all for fun.

I looked on ebay, and on mousepinsonline, and have looked at the FAQ and some information here and am more confused than ever! I really didn't think it was that complicated. I want to get pins for a "bulk" price, but don't want my kids hassled for having the "wrong" kind.

I read about "propins"--and that some here have had trouble trading them--even with CM's. If they fit the guidelines (official Disney logo etc...) why would the CM's make comments? Am I running a risk of trade rejection or problems if I buy them? My kids don't care who makes them--just that they are "cute"!

What are Sedesma? I have seen them mentioned--but couldn't figure out if they were good or bad?

Is there anywhere to get a "grab bag" of fully legitimate pins? How do I even know if what I am buying will be the right ones? We don't have a Disney Store anymore and can't go to the Orlando Outlets so I will HAVE to buy online. I certainly prefer to find them for less than $4 each. I will check the Disney Store online clearance also.

Anything else I need to know????

Don't bother with propins or sedesma - you can trade them right now, but they are of a much lower quality than the 'real' pins. CMs have to trade them, but some people have reported that negative comments have been made. Getting real pins avoids all of these possible hassles - and frankly, I feel better trading a decent quality pin for a decent quality pin instead of trying to trade an obviously crummy pin for a good one. I know the others are allowed (the other worry is that the policy has changed before and could change again) but it's just my personal choice.

It's really not necessary to get the crummy pins to get a good price, though. Go to Ebay and find a seller with great feedback who says upfront in the auction that all of their pins are from Disney, not propins or sedesma. If you find a good-sized lot, you'll be able to get a bunch of pins for about $3.50 each, including shipping. There are sellers who usually have several lots up at once and many have Ebay stores you can order from directly. I've bought from several of them and have not had a problem yet - though if an auction or a seller's feedback or shipping charge give me pause, I skip it and find another auction.
