please explain booking day by day

I don't understand this concept. So if I want to go Mar 28-April 3 2009, can't I call April 28 and book the whole trip? I am so confused!!

What I was told was that you can only book either 11 months (home resort) from your check out day - end of your trip not beginning.

I changed your April 28 to March (in my quote, I think that is what you meant).

First, you can only book 11 months out for your home resort or 7 months out for the other resorts.

You could only book the whole trip if you waited until 11 or 7 months out from the checkout day of your last day of the trip. Or you can call 11/7 months from the checkout day of your first day and book that one day. Then do the same day by day for each day of your trip.

Sounds like a hassle, but it gives you a better chance of obtaining hard to get units or periods of time.

This is done (IMO) to level the playing field between mini owner (like me with 200 pts) and mega owner with many more points. It prevents the mega owner from reserving a long stretch of peak time (or any time) without having to compete directly (day by day) with the mini owners.

The mega owner can't call 11 months from the beginning of the month and say "I want the whole month" and then the mini owner calls mid month wanting a week only to be told "sorry mega owner already took the whole month".

Kind of a simplistic explanation, but hope it helps.

If you wanted to go 4/28/09 - 5/3/09 you could call on 5/3/08 to book your entire trip at your home resort. Its 11 months from the date of your check-out.

Oh! I thought it was 11 months out from check in. We haven't really traveled at peak times, so I have never been too worried! Thanks
