So I have no idea how I am going to survive this first trip with the kids. My 4 year old DD was watching the Christmas parade on YouTube and I was in tears over her reaction to the floats!! I was never an overly emotional person until I had these kiddos. It doesn't help that WDW holds an extra special place in my heart - DH and I got married at the Poly in 2010.

Please tell me I am not the only one! Any advice? These are all tears of joy but there is seriously no controlling them!

Just wait until she has one of the characters wave at her in person! My favorite moments at WDW are watching my kids at the parades. Just cherish it all and don't worry about being emotional it happens to all of us. :)

Just be prepare to be laughed at...a lot, LOL. My kids love Disney, but my love for Disney is in a whole other universe. I bawl my eyes out at the most ridiculous things, which causes DH and the kids to laugh. :)

You will cry and it is fine! DD had her first trip when she was 2. My eyes welled up a lot during that trip. Everything was real and new and amazing to her and she was so happy the whole trip. She is 9 now and we have been every year since then and that trip is still probably my absolute favorite! Don't worry about it!! Just enjoy that first trip!

I cry during FOLTK every time and yes my kids laugh and roll their eyes.
Or when DD5 danced with the Beast in her Belle Gown, or when older DD first went at 4 and was made princess of the day at CRT.
Or when DS (as jack sparrow) met Jack Sparrow during MNSSHP
I have happy tears :) I love seeing my kids in the magic

Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I cry at commercials so yeah, I already warned DH that it is going to take one smile from DS to make me bawl like a baby. I can usually hold it in, but DH knows when I've got that look in my eye and will totally make me lose it lol!

I did much better than I thought I would last month with my 2 year old at Disney. I cried when she saw the parade for the first time and waved her little hand off. I also laughed and cried when she sang "Let it Go" for Elsa, then "Do you wanna build a snowman?" for Anna. The photopass guy and helper were like "OMG! How old is she?" They couldn't believe she'd just turned two. I was overly emotional that day anyway because we'd just gotten the call (when we stepped off Jungle Cruise) that the baby I'm carrying is a boy. I told the helper that and she hugged and cried with me! LOL Anna was our best character interaction of our whole trip. She kept asking my daughter Anabelle (Anne-uh-Belle) if she was sure her name wasn't "Ah-nuh-belle." And when we left she said "Bye Ah-nuh-belle!" then like caught and corrected herself in perfect Anna style. SHE WAS AWESOME!

Adorable!!! I hope you got that on video!!! Sounds like you have a singer/theatre kid in the making! We had a similar experience. When DD was 2 and dressed as her absolute favorite Cinderella, and she sang the entire "A Dream is a Wish" to Cinderella. It was back in the Toontown days when you met 3 princesses in a room. Cinderella was the first, but as she started singing it was a ripple effect to where everyone pretty much everyone in the room with the other Princesses stopped to listen. One Mom told me it gave her goosebumps. Yep- I cried. Sure enough, she is 9 now and her favorite place to be is onstage! Sounds like yours might be the same way!

You've got that right! She loves to sing in the spotlight! She's got it honest, though: my hubby and I met when we were cast as Mr and Mrs Beaver in Narnia the Musical!

Perfectly normal!! I tear up everytime we walk into MK for the first time and see the castle. I tear up every single time we watch Wishes during a trip. And now that my kids are growing (8 and 12) I tear up thinking about when they were little compared to now on our trips. Ugh, who am I kidding I'm almost tearing up just thinking about it now. lol. Silly kids I was never emotional like that before them!! :)

If I didn't have a camera to keep me occupied, I would have had happy tears watching our son greet all the characters. Just be glad your children give you happy tears (as opposed to the other kind), and take pride in giving them such a great experience. And cry away!!

I have learned to stand behind my kids during the MK welcome show. Get something in my eye every time! It is the only place I cry!

Oh me too, there's one McDonald's commercial in particular.

Seriously though, I'm crying reading this thread think I thinking about all the crying I'm going to do. And also I can't wait? Like I hope all of the crying is everything I'm dreaming it will be...first cry in front of Cinderella's castle for instance.

My kids made me soft too.

Just thinking of my DS's Buzz reaction makes me tear up a bit. That and when we went to meet Woody & Jessie; Jessie saw him in line (wearing a Buzz costume and cape, you can see it in my avatar) and came running over and called Woody over in a "OMG it's Buzz!" kind of way. Really really cute. I wish I had that in video format.

So very not alone! I also got a broken cry-center after having kids...we took our daughter for her first trip on her 4th birthday and I cried the whole time LOL

You definitely are not alone! I look back at the photos of my kids and get emotional :) I love to see how each one reacts to the characters and experiences! I am so excited to take my youngest DS in Dec for this reason alone!
