Hey fellow dissers....

Here is our restaurant list. There are 10 of us, 8 first timers.

What do you think?

Arrival-- Whispering Canyon Cafe followed by campfire w/Chip & Dale

Tusker House-Donald's Safari Breakfast

Rainforest Cafe

Akashus

Crystal Palace

Boma

Last Meal....Chef Mickey's

Opinions Please...we will be traveling with 5 adults and 5 children ages 3-11

Only one I would skip is Rainforest, just because it's a chain - you can go to the same restaurant out in the "real world".

With the wide array of ages I think buffets are a good plan. How about the Cape May dinner? No characters but the buffet has both a 'classic American' and a seafood section, including all-you-can-eat crab legs. Cape May is convenient both to DHS and Epcot, so that might make your travel plans easier, too.

Another alternative would be to try to get a dinner ADR at Ohana, at the Poly. They bring the food to you but, again, it is all you care to eat. You get a good selection of items; kids can try the adult fare but the kitchen can also supply the classics (hot dog, macncheese) if needed. Best dessert on the property, too.

Thank you. I did not know about Cape May. I will check into it. I did really want to go to Ohana, but I have been trying to obtain ADR for weeks, but they are booked during my dates. I'm going to keep trying.

You have fun choices!
What about doing the Boma buffet instead of Rainforest Cafe (since you will be close on Tusker House/AK day). I usually stay at Animal Kingdom Kidani, but if I am staying somewhere else I find it a little tiresome to go to AKL.

I agree with PP I would try something other than Rainforest Cafe. And as far as that goes, I will second the Cape May Dinner Buffet. Nice call Quin.

I would scratch Rainforest Cafe. It's pricey and the food isn't that great. You're really paying for the atmosphere. Since you're traveling with little kids I would do a character dinner. Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom and Ohana in the Polynesian are my favorites.

Whispering Canyon Cafe - A fun place to kick off your vacation. We love the skillet to share. Never had a bad meal here.

Tusker House-Donald's Safari Breakfast - Nice Character breakfast. Food was pretty good.

Rainforest Cafe - I've been to the one at AK for breakfast. The food was very good - service so-so.

Akashus - I have not been too

Crystal Palace - I have not been too

Boma - I have not been too

Chef Mickey's - fun atmosphere - food so - so.
