but I was wondering if anyone "cleans or wipes down" anything in their resort room when they arrive. I'm thinking about bringing clorox wipes with us in September for the tub since my daughter will be taking baths in there and my husband thinks I'm nuts. He says that's what maids are for. But I'm a clean freak and I've been hearing a few reports of poor maid service at the GF I just want to make sure that things are clean, especially things she'll be sitting in (tub) or picking up. Anyone ever done this??

After watching the Dateline show on hotel rooms, you're not at all crazy. Wiping down the phone, TV converter, doorknobs and drawer handles on the dressers would be a very good idea--the tub too.

I've been doing that for the last 6 years or so..I at first sprayed all down with a can of lysol and when the clorox spray came out I would bring that and now with the clorox whipes I add them to my packing..
My sister works in a hospital and said that the clorox products work better on germs.. Also not a great subject but ever since I came across the New Wizzard Tobacco Odor Neutralizer Citrus spray Air Freshener I am Thrilled.. I keep this in our bathroom in WDW and at home. I won't be without it! It's only an 8 oz. can so it's great for packing.. If I have more than one room I will bring a can for each bathroom..
The fans sometimes are slow or they seem so to me? And 9 times out of 10 the bathrooms are quit small and close to the bed area. Here's what I'm getting to.
If someone makes a smelly , a spray of this Neutralizer gets rid of the smell instantly.. I only am able to find it at our Kroger Grocery store and our Wall Mart! I live in Michigan..But if you see the New Wizard Tobacco Odor Neutralizer Citrus Air Freshener just pick one up their only 99cents and try it in your own bathroom at home. You'll love the smell plus the smellys don't linger with perfume smell or lysol smell..
My DH say's we should own stock in this stuff..
I also always take a PLUG in tropical glade type of thing for our room. It's very nice when we walk in our room to smell it so nice..

I'm glad I'm not the only one. My husband thought i was going to pack comet and the scumbuster!!!! I'm not that bad! But I was concerned about dirty tubs and things my daughter may pick up and touch etc. Thanks for your suggestions!

No you aren't crazy. But the GF maid service is the best out of all the hotels I have stayed at.

Well if you're crazy then I'm crazy right along with you. Like Chatty, I too have done this on every trip. I always use the disinfectant wipes in the tub and on and around the toilet. I also spray the bed and bedding down with lysol before we take off for the parks so it has completely dried by the time we get back to the room. And btw Chatty I have used that spray you are talking about and you are right, it's the greatest.

What great ideas. We too are staying at GF but my DD is only going to be 16 months old and crawling on everything. I'll be at Walmarty later today and am going to look for the air refresherner.

I pack cleaner and even disposable seat covers for the park restrooms (just incase they're out). I can only find those at WalGreens.

......And Dizzy Pooh I have found the disposable seat covers at Walmart in the Sporting Goods department too. But isn't it wonderful how Disney actually does provide them for us {if they haven't run out of course}? If they only did that in the freeway rest stops it'd be great.

Cute 2disneywego! And I agree. I never use the bedspread either. A friend of mine won't even use hotel beds at all. They take sleeping bags and blankets and place them on top of the hotel beds after they remove the hotel spread. Well I guess you never know, right?
