Please don't sing along to shows loudly!

Just came back from two nights in our RV with me and my son - the crowds were very heavy, but luckily, we had a good time working a couple of FastPasses and just walking around, enjoying each other.

We did the Wine Country Trattoria dining package on Monday night - I have eaten there before, and I have to say, I was not as pleased as I would have hoped about the dinner. I got the lamb shank, and the polenta was dry and hard while the lamb seemed flavorless, although tender. The dessert tray was delicious, though!

I did feel like a bit of a sucker for paying for the dinner package, though, because people were just crossing the ropes into the Preferred Viewing section with seeming impunity. My son and I LOVED the show, except for the two women behind me who seemed to want to impress everyone around them by knowing all of the words and singing at the top of their lungs. It was horribly distracting everyone around them, and no, no one was impressed.

After quite a few looks from people around them, I finally said something, which caused them to only sing louder. I started to get angry at their clear lack of concern about the people nearby, but I decided to just let it go.

Why do people do that? I don't understand, especially when it is clearly bothering fellow park-goers!

Amen! :thumbsup2 I don't get it either!
Another one for you: Why do people talk loudly during the first 2 minutes of POTC?! You miss hearing the bayou sounds and it is such a distraction from the ride. I'm glad people are having fun on their vacation, but what about those around them? Do they even care? :sad2:

The loud talkers and singers drive me nuts.

One time my friend and I were sitting in the Animation building, cooling off from the heat while watching the clips of Disney's animated features on the screens above. When it came to the "Aladdin" segment, this girl who was sitting on the same sofa that we were on began to sing "A Whole New World" loudly, but rather off-key - not even trying to keep quiet. I felt like this girl just wanted everyone to know that she knew the words to the song...and no one cared that she knew...and her voice was terrible, to boot!:rotfl2:

And as for the talkers on POTC, oh Lord....I've been on that ride with actual friends of mine who were talking - in a very regular, audible tone, so that everyone on the boat could hear them - all the way up until the first drop in the ride. Furthermore, on one occasion, one of them was telling me some rather alarming news of something that had happened to her, while we were sailing past the Blue Bayou. And not even whispering it, for that matter.

Mind you, I was totally, 100% silent while my friend was talking. I wanted to sink down in my seat so no one could see I was with her. I did not respond to one thing my friend was saying. I was hoping she would get the hint that this wasn't the place to be talking, especially not in a normal tone of voice. I was mortified because she was so loud and I knew that it must be driving everyone crazy - especially the poor people in front of us. That first drop in the ride could not come soon enough for me because that was what finally quieted her down.

Aside from being mortified because of the people in our boat who had to listen to my friend, I was also annoyed because I wanted to get in to the mood and ambiance of the ride. I wanted to look for hidden Mickeys and listen to the frogs and crickets and all that. I didn't need to have a chat right at that moment.

i get it. they are just enjoying themselves!

I'm ALL for enjoying yourself...but when you are clearly making the people around you NOT enjoy themselves? It seems very selfish to me.

..well you might of felt uncomfortable.. but did anyone else around you say something? were you the only one? its not selfish the lady was just simply enjoying herself ..she probably didn't realize that she can sing louder then mariah carey...;)

my point is. there is alot of things that other park guests do that may make us feel uncomfortable and or think they are selfish, but you have to remember that it's Disneyland, let's just enjoy our magical time at the parks and not worry about what other park guests do.. :)..because everyonce in a while there will be that one park guest that just annoys us.. we should not let it bother us..

Aww...come on guys! They can't help becoming overwhelmed with the Disney spirit. ;)

I guess this is another reason not to watch WOC. popcorn::

I am sorry...I have got to smile and giggle a bit at the lady singing out loud:rotfl2:

I know when I get nervous...especially on rides like roller coasters, I find I talk about absolutely nothing important until the first DROP! I am sorry:flower3: but my nerves make me do it:rolleyes1

I will try and think of others when this happens but with all the magic of Disney...it is hard.:wizard:

I know I would NEVER sing out loud though...my singing is a bit like an old car trying to turn over on a cold winter morning....rrrrr....rrrrrr....HORRIBLE!:rotfl:

DLR in 12 days!:banana::woohoo:

I'd ride with you any day.

Have fun on your trip! :goodvibes

It's funny when I was on screemin I noticed a couple guys in front of me were talking a lot. It wasn't almost until we pulled into the station that I noticed the audio was down and that is how I could hear them.

I think there is a difference in enjoying yourself at the parks and interrupting the "show". While watching Aladdin at the Hyperion, I think it would be rude for someone to sing along. The performers are doing their best to entertain and put on a show. Just because I know the words and do enjoy singing along does not mean that I should. It interrupts the show for everyone. Although the WOC music is not performed live, it is still a "show" and should be respected.

I have no problem with someone enjoying themselves by singing while walking through the parks. I think the annoyance comes when an actual performance is interrupted by someone's personal soundtrack.

Just great! First my lights stop working! Now I cannot get my Holiday lights background back! What kind of madness is this? ;(

And...... some people just do not care if they are being intrusive upon ones ride experience. Etc......

When we were on POTC last week, there was a group of teens behind us who not only talked loudly through the Bayou intro...they talked through the ENTIRE ride. The topic? Whether or not the ride smelled like cheese. Even my hyperactive super-talkative 9yo was irritated and whispered to me, "Mom, can't you tell them to be quiet?" I tried to make it a teachable moment by explaining that I hope when she reaches that age that she will respect the experience of those around her.

On another trip through POTC, our entire boat (not just us; everybody aboard...I think it was us and one other family) spontaneously started singing along with "Yo ho yo ho, a pirate's life for me.") That, to me, was clearly Disney spirit taking over, and was a fun moment. Though I can't exactly explain why that scenario seemed okay at the time, somehow it just was. :wizard:

I feel your pain. We had one chance to see World of Color and some moron totally ruined it for everybody within 30 feet of her. She was directly behind us and constantly (without stopping for breath it seemed) yelled "wooooooooooooooo" at the tip top of her lungs throughout the show. People were livid! Some told her to be quiet, others kept turning and staring at her or shaking their heads. The more she aggravated people the happier she became. It was so obnoxious because nobody else was making noise of any kind and this woman just went on and on and on. It was ALL about her and you could tell she was a spoiled nasty brat. She made her disabled father get out of his wheel chair so she could sit down in the disability section while he stood. :sad2: This wasn't a little girl, by the way...she was well into her 20s if not 30.

I honestly thought she was mentally ******** at first because what she did was so incredibly obnoxious and didn't seem like something that anybody would do if they knew better. I was more angry at the father for not controlling this behavior. But then a CM told us she reeked of alcohol. She told me that she wished somebody would have turned around and told her to shut the @#$% up. :rotfl: You KNOW it was bad for a CM to say that! I honestly don't care if the Disney spirit grabbed her. Her personal "magic" ruined it for dozens if not hundreds of people.

I thought for truly obnoxious people in DLR/DCA that there would be security/cm that would escort the obnoxious person out....hmmm, I hope that doesn't keep happening at WoC. That sounds terrible!

10 more days until my DD 1st visit!:woohoo::santa::love:
