Deb & Bill said:You know, Disney is not forcing you to get the dining plan. If it does not work for you, then you should not purchase it. If you want to get adult meals, you use adult credits. That's why you pay more for them. If you want to get child meals, you use child credits. That's why you pay less for them. You are not supposed to purchase adult meals with child credits. Similarly, you are not supposed to purchase child meals with adult credits (but that is your loss, not Disney's).
If your children do not like the choices offered to them on the children's menu, it appears the dining plan is not suitable for your family. Either that or pay for adult credits for the entire family.
It's really very simple.
Thank you for posting this in such a clear-cut manner. I totally agree with what you said. This whole adult/child thing reminds me of how people used to purchase a child's AP so they could book an AP-rate room. Remember? Disney finally caught onto that and revised the *system*. I would guess that will soon happen with the DDP too.
I'm only mentioning this to point out that just because something "works" doesn't mean that's the way it was meant to be. So, please don't get upset with the CMs who notice that the card says 2A, 2C and will not allow you to get 4 adult meals (even if you've been able to do so at other CS restaurants).
