And I wanted to know how to make room requests - the last time I was at Disney I think you faxed requests in, now I think it might be different?

vwl is generally a woods view - you just call MS.

And remember to keep your requests to "general" items, such as view, near pool, etc. If you request a specific room, chances are it will not be available and the room assigner (if they aren't using the "room ready" system) won't know why you requested that particular room.

my only request would be near the elevators on the lake side (does not mean a lake view)

You make room location/preference requests via MS when you make your reservation. If you did not request anything, call MS and make them. It may be a little late to get your 1st choice.
