Please, dont allow your young children to push strollers

Gosh, silly me... everyone I have ever known that has had cancer, including close family members do everything they can to avoid the sun due to medications, even long after treatment.

I'm so enlightened... I had no idea there was a bridge on the Theme Park boards!

Ehh last studies have shown that cancer patients benefit from tree ours of full sun per day.
Heat and vitamin D are of the most best things the sun provides for those suffering from cancer.

Sorry Sue but you have no idea what is happening in Paris.
They are great whit helping those that need it including real "wish children". I have seen my friend helping those that really need it.
Maybe you should read on the CM board WDW how parents of Wish Children try to milk the system.

Regarding full enjoyment you can not expect the whole world to bend over for those that have a problem.
If somebody has a mental problem like spitting on people should Disney also accommodate them and just tell others "he/she had the right to do this because the ADA does allows it"?

So there is no free aces for helpers in WDW. Does that weight up to the benefits?
I posted that I am not an expert on what is happening in Paris.
But, by the same token, you have no idea what is happening in the US, the history of the ADA or why things are done the way they are in the US.

And, I have not mentioned anything about “Full Enjoyment” being a requirement of the ADA. There is no requirement under the ADA that “Full Enjoyment” is required.
SEA WORLD has posted that in their website as a REASON why they offered reduced prices. They have very specific requirements for what abilities guests need to experience many of their attractions and do not allow people who can’t do those things on the attraction. So, Sea World decided that that guests with disabilities did not get “full enjoyment.”

You mostly talk about guests using ECVs and wheelchairs and abuse. In most cases, they are using the regular line.
My youngest DD is permanently disabled. She does walk and has never walked and uses a wheelchair to get around. In most cases at WDW, we are using the regular lines. I don't understand why that is problem for you and why you think we should have to provide proof that she knees to use her wheelchair in lines?

The comments about MAW
Maybe you should read on the CM board WDW how parents of Wish Children try to milk the system.
make no sense whatsoever.
Those kids have to be certified by their doctor as having a “life threatening condition”, so they have lots of proof of disability.

Having spent a good deal of time in Paris and having worked for a French company for many years, I can say that Disneyadore's attitude is very typical of the French. The French are typically the first to be critical and the first to ask for help when something goes wrong (as history has proved time and time again). Pretty sad. But hey, at least they can crush a decent grape on occasion.

And I'm not even French. :rotfl2:But I do agree.
The French work attitude is a bit strange.
After a real big state owned company was sold to a private company and people had to work in real time the hell broke loose. No more coming to work at ten o clock,no more lunches from twelve to tree,no more going home at four o clock was so hard they just jumped out of the windows and killed themselves.
This happened las year and was big news in Europe.

I noticed that you added the part in bold as an afterthought. Could it be that you realize that you're entire line of reasoning here in this thread is crumbling and you'd desperately like to change the subject? Probably. Good luck with that. :sad2:

No not at all.
Crumbling? Sorry the truth hearts.

I don't see why parents bring thier young children to Disney anyway, all they do is whine.

(I'm talking about the parents whining, not the kids.)

I hit a few folks' ankles with our stroller on our way out after the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. As usual, the place was packed. It was only when people cut in front of me because I was leaving a little room so I didn't hit the person in front of us. I didn't feel bad AT ALL.

I'm too lazy and fat to go back through all these pages and multiquote.:confused3

I feel so sorry for you. It must be awful to live in a place so dark and terrible that all you can do is feed on your own ignorance and anger. You seem so utterly determined that WDW is filled with malingerers, fakers and lazy people out to abuse the system. You seem incapable of understanding simple facts: being in a wheelchair or ECV or having a GAC DOES NOT GET YOU FOTL!
This is reserved only for those on MAW trips. MAW requires certification-you can't just walk up to guest relations and ask for it. These children are dying for God's sake...and yet you would begrudge them this last visit. The parks are not swarming with MAW families and causing the rest of us to wait for hours in order to see an attraction. When will you get this through your thick head?

On the one hand you slam the ADA for making things too accessible for the disabled and seem determined to assume that everyone with a nonvisible disability is a scammer. Then on the other hand turn around and boast about using a GAC and wheelchair just because you could. You are a sad, sad person.

I really wish you would do everyone a favor. Enjoy DLP to your heart's content. But if you find WDW and its guests so repugnant, go somewhere else for your heat and vitamin D.

I am not an expert on DL Paris or European treatment of people with disabilities. You are not an expert on WDW, the ADA or treatment of people with disabilities in the US.
Since I am not an expert about DL Paris, I went right to the source - the DL Paris website.

You seem to assume I am complaining that WDW dies not allow reduced rate and allowing a caregiver to get in for free at WDW.

Far from the truth.
I pointed it out to show that DL Paris and WDW are not doing the same things. If WDW did provide reduced price or free tickets, they could require proof.

Amazing how a simple, well-put post on strollers can turn into a debate on disabilities, culture, and what not.

Amen.

For those of you folks going back and forth with the same poster - why not just hit the ignore button and stop the bickering? You are not going to change her mind or vice versa.

Sigh. Sadly, you are probably right. I resisted as long as I could, then got sucked into the vortex, like suds circling the drain.

Please, let's not be immature! Not everyone has bad intentions with ECV's! People are people no matter WHAT their disabilities are! Some are decent, some are not so much, just like everyone else. You shouldn't judge people by looks, but by actions! Plus DisneyAdore, I understand that you had cancer, and may have a different view on things, but please, when I read your post about having cancer and enjoying the accomidations, I was taken off guard, as a close member of my family had cancer, and it brought her to the brink of death. She has recovered, but still has mental health issues now because of it. Everyone has stress and problems in their real every day lives, do we really need MORE stress and problems online? I may be a child but I still know not to act immature in front of people I don't really know. Now maybe we can continue to debate this subject, but in a more civilized manner.

Bravo, StarTunnel.

If you are going to hold ECV drivers to a higher standard, you also need to hold the parents/grandparents pushing the huge strollers to that standard. Case by case there are more giant strollers in the parks than ECVs, therefore more people are injured by strollers. And when you fill that stroller with 2 kids, coolers etcs and use it as a battering ram.......

I do actually. and I also choose to NOT use an ECV as I am well aware of my limitations and inability to safely operate one. more than once I have gotten stuck behind an ECV in line because they cannot properly maneuver around corners. or the lady who literally broke her ECV because she rammed into the benches at Tiki room so many times she cracked the casing on the edge and it fell off. and the bench did not escape damage either. and all this time she was preventing half the crowd from leaving.. which I am sure made the next group waiting to get in most displeased.

And you have never been stuck behind someone with a stroller? I fail to see how you are holding both ECV users and stroller users to the same standard by this example.

Crumbling? Sorry the truth hearts.

"The truth hearts"? :confused3 Crumbling is an excellent word to describe your arguments. Misdirection is another excellent word which describes how you attempted (and failed, btw) to change the subject when you went back and edited your previous post to add a story about the lack of work ethic the French people apparently have.

Amazing that young people even go to a supermarket.
I'm so glad we just can order our groceries on line. Don't the big supermarkets in Canada provide this service?:confused3

as someone who has to buy their groceries online because of my disability and the fact that my husband is 7000 miles away Playing Sailor currently; you have GOT to be kidding me.

I can't pick out the best fresh produce, I am at the mercy of who ever packs my order when it comes to meat and the online selection? runs about HALF of what is available in the stores themselves.

you really do have a warped sense of the universe, don't you , Disney adore?

I agree! Most adults don't post that way, plus look at her spelling and grammar. Obviously a child and one that's being raised to be a selfish, spoiled brat.:rotfl: If her posts weren't so pathetic, they'd be almost cute in their ignorance.

Well maybe you should think about those that are not from the US and not learned " English" as their mother language. You know those damn xxxxx foreigners that bring money into the US. We put a lot of sweat learning English but tell me how many of you try to learn Polish,German, French, Danish or Italian when you are visiting an European country? :confused3
But again thank you for calling me a spoiled brat. :rotfl2:
Boy do I wish to feel like a young brat again.

Perhaps you should read and comprehend entire posts before responding to them? I was about to respond to just the top post - to explain to that person that you're European, that English isn't your native language. But your continued rants make you appear, as that poster says, "a child AND one that's being raised to be a selfish, spoiled brat".

You're ranting like a child. It truly doesn't matter how things are done in the overseas parks. THIS discussion is about the parks in the United States.
