Okay, I'm fully aware that there's an "Everything Pooh-Sized" thread, but I really need help and that thread is about 100 pages long and filled with more information on more pooh-sized topics than I can handle. If you don't mind, I could really use some answers on this thread because I'm 6 weeks out from our trip and I've gained a tremendous amount of weight since our last trip.

If you're pooh-sized, can you please define the following...and I'd be happy to receive it by private message. I just need something to set my mind at ease...

Women especially...

Approximate weight
Approximate height
Jeans size
At your size, was there anything specific that gave you problems or anything you avoided?

In the interest of fairness, I'll start.

5'7"
320 or 330
28

i'm not scared :)

i also believe there are lots of different opinions on what is/what isn't pooh sized.

i'm 5'1" (you can see in my avatar i barely come to his shoulders, lol)
my normal weight is 140
in my avatar, november 2009, i'm 160 soon after miscarriage #1
last may i was 175 after miscarriage #2 -- first time i was uncomfortable at wdw--first time experiencing chafing
since then with serious issues after miscarriage #2 and lots of meds and treatments.... i'm at 192.... november and march were very very uncomfortable trips for me.

my jean size is 18w

some may say that i'm not "that" pooh sized, those who know me can visually see that i've gained a whole person in the past year and half. i personally have seen my body go thru extreme changes and am experiencing new challenges.

my weight gain was extremely rapid and to say the least, i'm new at this. i have found the wonders of bodyglide, sundresses and bike shorts and sketchers toneups with the help of the boards. the more weight i put on, the more uncomfortable in shorts i became--i didn't like how they would ride up and cause my skin to rub. i immediately became a fan of dresses. i'm okay on most rides--i have to be careful pulling down the bar because it doesn't go as far down now. the only one i really felt crushed in was astro orbiter--and i also don't like to sit in the cars at sci-fi. i also have more pains than i previously did and have to take more breaks. at 5'1", very short, what happens most of the time is that my chest gets in the way of where normal people's torso would hit--and that's annoying. i still enjoy myself, but everytime i go, i wish i was "back to normal".

we're going to the water parks next week and i'm extremely nervous--i'll report back.

Thank you! I know it can be intimidating, especially when you've not been but a few pounds overweight and then to have it pile on faster than you're ready for.

I'm sorry about the miscarriages! That kind of stress and disappointment would lead me to eat until I weight 1000 pounds! I'm sorry.

While some would say you're "not very much Pooh-sized," and certainly not next to me, I've been all over the scale and so I know first-hand that weight is relative. A woman at 135 pounds can feel terribly "fat" while a woman at 235 can feel like she's at her perfect weight. It's all relative and all very personal. Thank you for sharing!

I had just had a baby 4 mo before we went. I don't recall any problems with rides, walking, or enjoying my trip. The only thing that was bad was the heat, it was June and in the 90's. Heat and me don't mix.

We went to Disney in 2009. At that time I was 5'7" 360lbs and a easy 28/30. It was rough. My second day in the park I tripped and injured my knee (what turned out to be a torn meniscus) which made the walking that much harder. The combo of the heat and pain killed me. I rented an ECV and that really made the trip enjoyable. There were a few rides that I couldn't fit on (most of the coasters) but I rode the tower of terror, soarin, toy story rides etc... In that fashion I had a BLAST.

We are going back this year and I am sooooo excited. I had gastric bypass in December 2010 and am down 110 pounds so far so there will be no stopping me this trip.

Disney is truly very size friendly.

Only things I remember being a little tight at WDW was the turnstiles at HM, and the cars in SciFi (but completely do-able). The most uncomfortable seat: the plane. I needed an extender. :scared::sad::blush: With the rides, sometimes the "problem" was that I was riding side-by-side with my DD15 who is 130 lbs and 5'. So I kind of smashed down the lap bars so she wouldn't go flying out. I tend to be somewhat evenly portioned, although the majority of my weight is in my belly, hips, butt and thighs.

i am 5'10 260 my DH is 5'9 320
i'm 24 he is 29, im a size 20
over here at six flags we can't fit in anything!! they even have a seat outside superman that u can see if you'll fit before you wait in line. we were so nervous that we weren't going to be able to right anything ay disney world.
we rode everything!! no problem!! we asked a cast member aobut aerosmith and she just laughed and said she has never seen anyone have a problem.

yea i think the flight over there was not fun, i've heard that southwest was the worst with overwieght people. my DH said he wanted to ask for an extender but he was scared to, he just sucked it a lil a delt with it. the plane lady (i forgot what thier called) was staring at us the whole time we were putting seat belts on

I flew Continental. I could have gotten the belt snapped but would have been very uncomfortable. I had to ask the stewardess for the seatbelt extender 3 times and then she was getting nasty about it. As the plane was taxiing she came over and said "Are you the one who needs the extender?" Nasty biotch! :rotfl:

I used to be 6' tall and 320 lbs at my highest weight visiting WDW. My jean size was 26/28. Had to turn sideways to get through turnstiles. Otherwise most rides were fine. Most of my issues are height related.

I am looking forward to my October trip. I have lost 75 lbs as of today and by October I should be down 140 lbs (gastric bypass).

Looking forward to not sweating my butt off by 8 am.

Congrats on your weight loss!

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread - but what is 'bodyglide?" I have a prob with my shorts too (5'5, 225 sz 20/22) and can't stand them riding up. We're going in August so I want to stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks! Oh, and I've never had any issues riding anything at WDW. 6 Flags though....:sad2:

Bodyguide is a product that prevents chaffing.
It's a stick-at least all the ones we have used. We brought ours at Dicks Sporting goods store. It was about $7-$10. It was by the running stuff.
We LOVE it...I use it under the "girls", heels and thighs.
Hope that helps.

But my main issue is my thighs and butt...:rotfl: It takes forever for me to find shorts/jeans/skorts to fit over the tops of my legs that don't gap in the back!!!
That might have been an overshare but what are the odds I am the only one with that issue...:thumbsup2

44x36 pants, XXXXL shirts. Currently tanning furiously in preparation for our upcoming trip because brown fat looks a whole lot better than white fat. :cool1:

Bodyglide is the best thing since velcro or sliced bread. It's the absolute best thing ever invented for chafing, no matter what size you are. Check out the reviews:

I'm 5'7", 220 lbs, size 18.
I've never had any major problems at Disney due to my size, but I feel like its more even & I don't carry my weight in any certain area more than another. The only thing I can think of is some of the turnstyles.

I'm 5'7", 250lbs, size 24.

I've rode everything I've wanted to... with some difficulty getting out (Test Track, Space Mountain) but managable. The one issue I did have was taking my 40lb 4 yr old on rides like Thunder Mountain because the lap bar wasn't very tight on him.

We rode SW on the way down there and I don't remember being ungodly uncomfortable with the lap belt, but I think it was as extended as it would go.

I can also say, that if you don;t have Bodyglide, that using some stick deodorant on your thighs works as well. Normally I don't have a chaffing issue, but on my most recent trip (beginning of April) for the first two days, I had some rubbing. I grabbed my trial sized stick of Dove and apllied some each morning afte rmy shower. Worked like a charm!

5ft nothing 140 lbs size 10p-12p. Bottom heavy! Bigger problem is bad knees and getting older every day;) In my 50's:scared1: The only time I have a really hard time is SM. Getting in is hard getting out is harder. I like to have DS give me a hand and kinda pull me out but most of the time he is jumping off and running to see our pic. I am like HELLO could use a hand!:rotfl:
