We have ONE day to bring our DD (2 1/2) to DL before our cruise. Unfortunately, it is January 1st which will likely be busy (I would guess)

With the time change, it will feel much later in the day for us so we plan on using this to our advantage and be there bright and early. Now that Disney finally posted their schedule for that day, I made a plan.

Experts, please tell me if this is doable or not. I realize I am skipping a lot - we are just going for the highlights!

Arrive at 7:30 AM. Rent stroller and purchase one day hoppers.

8:00 Get in - go to fantasyland

Ride :
Peter Pan
Dumbo
Mr. Toad
Carousel
IASW

IF we are doing well on time : Also Casey Train and Storybook Boat

If there are any potty breaks during the fantasyland time, DH will run and pick up FPs for SM

Edited to add : might skip Mr. Toad if I think she'll be scared. I'll decide on Peter Pan about that.

10:30 Leave FL
Pick up a FP for Indy on way out ( not sure how long we'll have to be in between to get both fastpasses???)

Got to DCA

11:30 Playhouse Disney

Have lunch, allow for possible nap

Got to 1:50 show of Alladin

Go back to DL for 3:30 parade

At this point, either do our two adult rides (SM and Indy) right then and go to hotel OR if DD is too pooped to hang out, take her back to hotel and go back after supper without her (Grandma at hotel) and do up the two fastpasses then. (We are at Hojo's)

Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you!

My first advice would be to buy your park hopper passes online before you go so that you dont have to wait in line to buy them and then wait in line again to get into the park. That will save you a little time, also get to the park as early as possible so that you can be as close to the front of the line as possible, the sooner you can get into the park the better.

As soon as you get in, one of the grownups should run and get whatever fastpasses you will want for the day while the other does a ride or two with your dd, fastpasses do runout and on New Years Day it will probably be VERY busy.

In my opinion you can skip Mr Toad, my kids didnt care for it. But they did like Alice in Wonderland. Casey Jr and the boats follow the same basic route so you really only need to do one if you are pressed for time.

Getting a good place for the parade will be impossible if you arent there at least an hour or two ahead of time but if you are fine with that you might be able to make it back over for the parade.

You dd will probably surprise you with what she can handle, check out my trip reports to see how we have done with our little ones, good luck and have a wonderful trip!

If your DD has a lovey or binky you can pack those in your diaper bag & hopefully she can take her nap in the stroller. My almost 4 yr old DD never naps but crashed in the stroller this week at DLR. You & DH can then wander around and take in the holiday decor - right now New Orleans square looks abosolutely amazing! Or you could take turns doing Indy while she naps. Indy was our favorite ride by far!

Thanks. Buying tickets in advance is a good though.

Can we get both fastpasses at once, or will there have to be a gap in between? We need two of each since we may go back without her to do those rides.

I don't want DH to have to miss her seeing DL because he is getting FPs so I'll play that one by ear.

She'll probably do well - it's just we'll have flown in the day before and it will feel 4 hours later to us so I am expecting some jet lag or tiredness from her.

No "secret" good place for the parade?:wizard:

There is a return time on the ticket, you can pick up another fp anytime after the return time starts, or 2 hours after you got your 1st fp, whichever comes 1st. We had a great view of the parade by IASW but we've had good luck sitting on the curb near main street too.

Yes, you can only get one fast pass at a time and there is a time gap. But if you are there early enough, (When the gate opens.) You should be able to get the two fast pass rides you want, with the time gap, just watch your times and make sure you go and get it as soon as your time is up to get a new fast pass
Also remember that the fast past system is hooked up to each park independantly, and you can get an Indy fast pass and then go over to DCA and get a Soarin fast pass right away.
Also, if one person has to get a stroller, then the other person should go get the first fast pass as soon as the gate opens, then you can meet up at the first ride.
