DH and I are heading out for our first WDW vacation in December. Last night I sat and made decisions on our table dining choices since it is getting close to the 90 day mark for reservations. For those of you who have been to WDW several times, can you take a look and tell me if there’s something I am missing or if you have any suggestions on what we should do differently? We are planning on using counter service meals for lunches and table service for our dinners.

Sat – Beaches and Cream
Sun – LeCellier
Mon – Sci Fi
Tues – Kona
Wed – Whispering Canyon
Thurs – Ohana

I think this will give us a decent variety of restaurants, right? I never knew when I started planning this trip how detailed the arrangements would have to be. I have never had to decide where I am going to have dinner 90 days in advance of a trip!

Thanks for your input!

looks like some good adult choices... i'm guessing you don't have children travelling with you? if you do, you might want to throw in a character meal (even if i were not taking my kids, i'd do a character meal!)... breakfast is a good choice and offered in various locations throughout the world... ENJOY! :flower:

the only thing i might change is beaches...definitly a "burger" place if you want a full fledged meal.( not a bad place but it was considered counter with the quick and casual vouchers, not sure what it is with the dining plan)

Since Beaches is Table Service on the dining plan, I wouldn't waste a table credit. Set aside $20 or so and go to Beaches off of the plan. Save your table service credits for a more expensive, three course meal.

I agree with ScoJo15 about Beaches. The food is good but I think it would be a waste of table service. When we were there, we actually opted for counter service because there are so few tables and the place is busy.

Ok, so if we decide to pay cash at Beaches and Cream, this leaves us with an extra table service credit...I guess we could do a sit down meal twice another day.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions!

we at the SCI FI last week and it was good. had a cheeseburger and asked for it welldone but you cant really see the food when you eat b/c it is dark in there and i dont think i was well done at all. thats my only complaint!

whispering canyon is AWSOME you have to get the skillet.

Both Sci Fi and B&C are burger joints. I wouldn't waste a Dining plan TS credit on these.

Though the atmosphere at SF is great the food is SO-SO. We prefer 50's Prime Time to SF at MGM.

There are some very good TS restaurants near B&C. If you like seafood try Cape May. Also just across the bay is Spoodles. B&C is a short walk to EPCOT. Have you considered eating at Marrakesh or Teppanyaki?

I know that since this is your first trip you are probably trying to cover your basis and try restaurants here and there. IMO, you may find that you want to try more of the restaurants at world showcase. The atmosphere, entertainment, and overall dining experience is memorable. It's more than simply eating a meal out. Le Cellier is great. I would also recommend Les Chefs de France. I have enjoyed Biergarten in Germany and the place in Italy as well, although not quite as much.

I know that California Grille, Hollywood Brown Derby, & Narcoosee's are all 2 TS, but these are all excellent.

Good luck with your selections! You'll have a great time!

I would consider Mama Melrose over Sci-Fi. From what I've heard the foor is not so good at Sci-fi though I've never tried it myself. I can tell you from experience though that Mama Melrose is great!

I!
since you are on the dining plan and money is no object( well not as much an object)
i agree with this..especially LeCellier and Chefs if these are 1 credit with the dining plan as these are really nice rest. scifi is just barely soso and over priced and i wouldnt waste the credit on it..if you really want to see it go get dessert sometime ( even that would be a waste imo but i am still crabby over our last scifi encounter almost 2 yrs ago :) ) Biergarten ,the food is pretty good( some very good but german which i like, others may not) and the show fun but you do sit at long communal tables which also may not be enjoyable to everyone...

Great list....some minor adjustments...

if you don't have kids...skip Whispering Canyon and pick up a Castle dinner...if it were just my husband and I...we'd love the Castle's ambiance over a loud and rowdy barbecue (and we're doing WC this trip...only because we know the kids will love it!!!

What about a character meal? They are just a blast...Liberty Tree Tavern is probably a fave of ours and has most the suited characters. Our best pictures of all come from these restaurants....and having Goofy give you a noogie while eating is priceless! :)

I would do Kona or 'Ohana's....spread your experiences out.
Enjoy!
Tara
